Peroxide

11 - "This is another song that means a lot to me. One of the most beautiful songs in her catalog."

Ampersand13

11 - "I truly believe this to be one of Taylor's most compelling songs. I remember listening to this for the first time and thinking "where are the melodies? Where does the verse end and the chorus begin?" and then I found myself sitting at a Carls Jr. parking lot driving-through at 2 in the morning close to tears anxiously reaching for the playback button again and again. Something just clicked. Perhaps it helped that, in my own way, I related to the theme of feeling judged and abandoned by those around me and desperately seeking solace in the one person I considered home. I understand people's criticisms whenever Taylor intertwines her public person toils with her personal romantic relationships, but I think she did it beautifully on this track. It's soothing, dreamy, utterly comforting and defiant."

NewStanner

11 - "Her best song."

MusicLoverDude

10 - "This song always made me feel good. Taylor felt like she was overcoming past mountains to get to where she was here with Joe. Even though they broke up, I still think this song is basically meant to show that you can still be hopeful for a better day and find love along the way."

Forever Winter

10 - "The best song on rep consistently since its release. Would've been a much better closer than New Year's Day."

blown away

10 - "This has grown into one of my favorites from Taylor. It sounds very genuine."

Lorenzo22

9.8 - "I kinda hate her adlibs on the final chorus but wdgaf, a classic."

Where are you now?

9.1 - "Soothing yet exhilarating. Her 'Yes!' at the end of the bridge is so cute."

By the Water

9 - "This was a decent bridge away from being a perfect song."

wastedpotential

8.8 - "This was such a breath of fresh air during the Resurreputation rollout, because we learned that the entire album wasn't going to be dark and dreary and bad. There was even a good while where this was my favorite hymn in the book, and even where it was one of my favorite Lord songs ever. Alas, I must reject that position now because I think the percussion work is atrocious. I just know Jack downloaded a free drumkit pack and ran with it and RUINED the song. Get the hi-hats away from me, you monster! They do not belong, they do not fit, they are disruptive and unpleasant. This song would probably be a 10 without them, but alas, here we are."

SLUTTVFTV

7.5 - "Cute but why on this album????"

Miles.

6 - "Extremely overrated."

Even funnier because there are no songs over 6 minutes on PTSD. :ahh:

But of the 4 songs over 4:40, only Peter and WAOLOM are good. So yeah, the point stands. She needs to re-learn how to write long songs.

To be fair I love But Daddy I Love Him and the title track.

I feel like a lot of her songs meander these days to be honest, but alas that's a seperate conversation.

I'm clinging onto my faves tightly at the moment :dancehall3:

No it makes me so mad because the acoustic version from Miss Frangipane (and I think also from that hideous green jumpsuit 2018 AT&T performance iirc) is just glorious but the official version... the percussion is so grating

The SNL version... doesn't do it for me :suburban:
