Holy Ground 10 - "Anybody giving this less than a 10 will be dealt with. It's personal." holyground13 10 - "My namesake! One of my favourite Taylor songs, it does sound like spinning around in a field in a brand new dress." Lazuli 10 - "I actually liked this less cuz the TV kinda butchered it but let's not discuss that." frankvert 10 - "This song deserved so much more. Jeff Bhasker's production is immaculate on this." Klein 10 - "Probably the most underrated song in her discography if there is one." Achilles. 10 - "The reverence of memory is an essential defining element of Taylor Swift's songwriting, and Holy Ground is a god-tier example of how and why." greento 9.7 - "More stuff like this please, Taylor." wastedpotential 9.6 - "This one really gets me up onto my feet and jumping all around my room every time it comes on! Suddenly 'ooh-ooh-ooh-oohwah' is a part of my every day vernacular, it's something I've attached a great deal of meaning to. This is my... always a bridesmaid never a bride hymn from Redemption - basically every other hymn on this book has had a point in time over the past 12 years where it was my absolute favorite (well, all of the good hymns, at least), but this one has always been somewhere in the top 8-12 range even from the very beginning. While I think Redsurrection TV was less botched than some of y'all do, I think this song... could've gone back for another pass on the mixing floor. The random off key super high pitched piano keys in the background... What Wendy Said for whoever is responsible." Forever Winter 9 - "Original version is excellence. :jonny:" Lorenzo22 8.3 - "Aged a bit but we love you." Where are you now? 8.2 - "Proof that she can successfully dabble in other sub-genres." Rev8 8 - "The production is something I wouldn't expect from her. It's like someone made a parody of the song. It's great tho." blown away 7.1 - "This one is fun. One of the best TVs as well." 1989 10 - "One of the best choruses of her entire career." Miles. 10 - "This and Sparks Fly are two of her most underrated singles, she should've had another LS-YBWM peak!" sparrowblue 10 - "I AM SPEAKING. Mine is better than Love Story but nobody will ever be ready for that truth." pavi 10 - "Nothing better than screaming along to this last chorus in the car (start belting again, taylor, we miss it!!)." blown away 10 - "I love the storytelling of this one. The superior sister of Love Story." greento 10 - "One of her best lead singles, the lyrics are great." Bussea 9 - This is such a cute little tune that holds as special little part in my heart. I still pretend the bridge is her coming out as a lesbian ❤️ Where are you now? 8.9 - "In the words of The Swiftologist, she's the "undiscovered supermodel" among lead singles." wastedpotential 8.6 - "It is true and valid to say that this Love Story redux isn't as good as Love Story, but almost anything attempting to duplicate Love Story will still turn out excellent (Callista Clark, I AM thinking of you as I write this because whew you just ******* suuuuck), and this is still quite excellent. Blah blah "you made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter" IS one of the best lines ever put to paper but y'all already know that and I feel little need to praise the obvious. Yes yes, Scott Swift is occasionally evil, yes yes he and Andrea are divorced, there's no need to be surprised. That said, the lyrical fantasy outlined here (and let's be clear, since this song is about John Mayo, it IS fantasy), is not the strongest Lord's ever managed. Instead, I would like to highlight the chord progression here. It's just so natural and gentle, guiding us as mere listeners to the slightly unrealistic narrative Lord is painting. I'd also like to highlight the beauty of Her New Testament vocals, we simply pretend the original does not exist and we have never heard those noises. The prechorus and the chorus had the Nashville establishment on their knees in praisings of the great Taylord, because oh they could just never compete nor compare. Oh actually, while I'm thinking about it, **** this song for outpeaking the far superior original, and also for managing to leak so far in advance that She had to botch the release. I know the video is a fan favorite or whatever but I actually hate it and kinda think everyone in it except for Tay is unworthy. I will never forgive the stupid church in Maine for leaking the video concept, I will never forgive that man with the ugly tattoos for daring to audition, and I will never forgive Lord for taking those children on a shopping spree when it should've been me! Naturally, instead of Toys-R-Us with those gremlins, she and I would go to the Porsche dealer and get matching 911s. Hers is lavender and mine (or rather MineTaylorsVersion.mp3) is a forest green. Ugh, I hope the children enjoyed their legos or whatever." kyungsoowift 8.5 - "This insomniac couple..." Edge of Glory 8 - "This chorus to this goes kinda stupid ******* crazy.........like she was on russian supersoldier drugs when she wrote that (BY HERSELF MIND YOU). NewStanner 6 - "Wish that a lead to such a great album was less generic than this, but it's still a cute song." BOAZ 0 - "I know this is messy but i always found this song overrated and non-melodic."
