The verses are gorg and tense and sexy, the pre chorus builds so well, the bridge (though about 8 seconds) is an awakening, but the chorus… it's just a letdown. The synth pulses and pulls underneath are the only redeeming quality to the chorus, because lyrically it's not all that exciting. Now, the verses (especially the second one (*in a SZA at the 2023 Grammys voice* 'ha, hi @poisonedivy!') are very well written, tight and fatal. This song DOES take all one point two billion of us to Church, and almost has me curled on the floor speaking in tongues, but alas. The Eras performance is so hot though!"
