Da Vinci Posted July 18 Posted July 18 The biggest stars of today are still millennials and Gen Z is currently obsessed and "nostalgic" for.... the 2000s lmao! 1
Støned Posted July 19 Posted July 19 As a Millenial, I can foresee Gen Alpha being more iconic than us
Reginald Posted July 19 Posted July 19 As a late-millennial, I have to say both Our generations have inherited a really ****** up scenario and are making the best of it. Soon, this world will be ours.
BGKC Posted July 19 Posted July 19 (edited) Boomers can't even tell the difference between Millennials and Gen Z and just simply lump them together as millennials. With that said, Millennials are also the punching bag for Gen Z who also can't tell the difference between Gen X and Millennials. Pretty obvious where the obsession resides in. (As well as the peak of pop culture) Edited July 19 by BGKC
ICLDXU4HS Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Due to the way we consume media now, it's automatically culturally millennials. We're all more isolated and in our individual bubbles now. In the early 2000s, I don't think it would have been possible to not know about the Britneys and NSYNCs to some extend. If I wasn't on ATRL, I don't think I would have ever heard e.g. an Olivia Rodrigo song unless I maybe had a teenage sister or daughter or something. 2
Alldeezy Posted July 19 Posted July 19 millennial duh. We are iconic and been around for 3 decades and have seen a lot of **** like I saw a post on Facebook and we have seen life before and after social media and technology 1
Weld_E Posted July 19 Posted July 19 The generation every one has an opinion on and is obsessed with: millennials. 1
Batsy Armada Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Millennials, by far. I feel like we're the most balanced and levelheaded generation, being caught in between two very distinctive lifestyles; the transition happened right under us. Adaptation and resilience, I feel, is in our veins. We've been through one economic crisis after the other. I feel like if any generation was let down by the world, it's us, but still—we fight, carry on and try to be the best we can with the situation handed to us. Boomers failed us and Gen X is just largely unremarkable, not really believing in or standing up for anything. They're just there. Gen Z is just too throwed to the point where I don't even know what they're talking about half of the time. I find that they complain a lot, also, with many being too sensitive for their own good. They just seem very fragile. Their fight against conformity is admirable, but too extreme to the point where it's easy to be dismissive of them because of it. 1 2

Britney Spears is not a gen x-er and neither is Beyonce or Justin. They were born in 1981. Millennials. max might be gen x, but that doesn't negate my point about pop stars. Edited July 19 by yonsé

Pillz Posted July 19 Posted July 19 (edited) I know it's very Gen Z of me but Millenials are absolutely cringey, but they have Rihanna so it balances out Edited July 19 by Pillz

I actually find that they all want to be alike? In a way we haven't seen since the Boomers ("keeping up with the Joneses"). Seriously so many of them seem to have the same personality, and they're really timid about going against the grain or having a different viewpoint than their peers about anything. Super shy and unassertive about this. Millennials weren't the same when we were their age, we really wanted to assert our individuality. Edited July 19 by Capris Groove

My nephew graduated and was back in my hometown in the middle of nowhere, and every single high school dude was dressed the exact same way....and not even cute. 1

You just described every interaction I have with a gen z at work. I was reported for not saying please and asking them to do their job kindly enough. The VP laughed when they told me. L-O-L. 1
Windy Day Posted July 19 Posted July 19 gen z. ppl on here are saying millennials are iconic and it's just disney adults, harry potters weirdos, being chronically offline and clueless most of the time. millennials are kinda harmless tho so it's alright 1
tjspy Posted July 19 Posted July 19 As a elder Gen Z (I'm 2001, I'm not sure where I land), but Millenials for sure. Just love everything about them and their culture
