Hmmm, people were saying she was the Cyndi Lauper of this generation. But this trajectory is worse me thinks.

No, that's not actually true. Katy had more hits overall and more success than Cyndi ever had. And 11 years into her career Katy had Never Really Over which was a moderate hit, Cyndi was not having that kind of success 11 years into her career.

"Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" is a song by American singer Paula Abdul and American musician Randy Jackson. It was Abdul's first single release in nearly twelve years. The song was produced by DEEKAY and Randy Jackson and appears on Jackson's album Randy Jackson's Music Club, Vol. 1.

"Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" reached number two on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and peaked at number 62 on the Hot 100 chart. It also charted in Canada and Romania at number 68 and 87 respectively. As of March 2008, the song has sold 189,000 digital downloads.[1]

I wonder if this will manage to outpeak Paula Abdul's 2008 comeback single

the  "Transcendental Woman Version" should've been the original version... no vocals, just noise... that is the only Katy Perry song I'd listen to x

The pop community is so unforgiving :dies: is there any pop star who is mostly known for pop (so Taylor and Rihanna don't count) that has a loyal, dedicated, and financially supportive fanbase a decade in besides like Madonna and Mariah? Especially after taking long breaks in between releases. The pop fans seem to move on so fast. I'm mean I feel like maybe Britney even when taking into consideration what happened, but sheesh.

I didn't listen to the song, and probably won't ever on purpose so idk if it's good or not, but I feel like the quality doesn't matter.

They're not "unforgiving". They just grow up and move on. Usually. (See the examples you gave)

i think the only women who can reliably count on their albums spending 10 weeks in the top 10 are taylor and, at least through her sophomore effort, olivia
