shimind Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Gaga is not done yet. Idk if she will have tour as big as bey or taylor.. but she still has a lot left in her. This upcoming LG7 era and the movie will turn out to be ASIB moment for her. Due to her health she is not able to capitalise it on her tours otherwise she can also easily gross above 500m now. 1
Orsay Posted July 17 Posted July 17 say what you will about "recession pop" but i truly believe that era spawned more memorable classics in a short 4-5 year period than everything we've seen in the decade that followed (2014-2024) combined that probably has to do too with the death of monoculture, which is a different conversation, but I don't think that embracing that electro-dance wave has any direct connection with a lack of longevity. Gaga pivoted and got one of the biggest smashes of her career with Shallow, Rih had her most acclaimed album with Anti then retired, etc I think its more so that recession pop was just a long time ago now, and most mainstream acts don't have a shelf life of 15 years+ 2
MP2K Posted July 19 Posted July 19 (edited) The way this instantly became a Rih pinned against Bey thread in the beginning, with nobody giving af about the others is truly telling. Edited July 19 by MP2K
bielneira Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Rihanna? Doesn't she have 80+ million monthly listeners on Spotify without an era since 2016?
blueberries Posted July 19 Posted July 19 cowboy carter is a huge flop she belongs in the same tier as the other 3 girls instead of taylor's

Rihanna doesn't even need to release anything to be above Bey. The media can only help so much. It's clear GP chose Tay , Rihanna and Adele anti flopped so hard that she had to start selling avon products and shein underwear
