Cain Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) Rih became the female artist with the most 1B streamed songs yesterday Edited July 13 by Cain 4 5
ninetales Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) The problem with Katy is that she and her team are idiot. The massive backlash she's received for collaborating with Dr.Luke says it all, let's not forget about the overwhelming negative reviews for WM. But if we check her catalogue, people still listen to her. All she needs is the right project, lead single but... Lady Gaga is fine. She's on a different track and I can say she's already a legend. It seems that she doesn't care anymore as she has a very strong catalogue. Rihi, what can we say? Her monster hits help her even with no new album in eight years. Bey?? Check her current streams Edited July 13 by ninetales 2 1

ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted July 13 ATRL Moderator Posted July 13 Their careers are all so vastly different that it's not like making some fun party songs 10-15 years ago hurt anyone.
hawx23 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) I truly don't get the delusional Gaga erasure when her face is on a trailer before every blockbuster movie in the whole country today. Something which every artist on this list has tried and failed to do (except Katy I guess). Beyonce seems culturally impenetrable, Taylor has become insanely huge, Rih still has tons of streams a decade out of her last single. They're all doing fine. Only one of these is not like the others. Edited July 13 by hawx23 3

They were nothing compared to Gaga during pop girls' emperial phase.. And Gaga is not capable of releasing an album like Lemonade or Folklore. king_queen Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Taylor Rihanna Adele Beyoncé These are the four MPGs still doing it. Everyone else is doing something different.
superben Posted July 13 Posted July 13 How does Bey outlast Rihanna when Rin's decade-old music has much better streaming stats than Bey's recent releases?
Hunter_13 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Taylor lasted because she never catered to fickle gays who drop you for the next shiny toy at the moment.

Like clockwork Watch them come up with streams and billionaire status, when deep down they know the truth. Lol Atrl and their micro aggression towards Beyonce needs to b studied.
Donquizote Posted July 13 Posted July 13 This stat doesn't seem like someone who outlasts Rihanna and Gaga
iammadmat Posted July 13 Posted July 13 i love taylor but 1989 could definitively be cataloged as ''recession pop'' as well, some tracks on red too.

(Almost a 30 year career) and nothing you pray, wish or cry for will change that. I just know you forgot to wear your pants before seeing beyonce name and running in here.. 1

Cause if that's the case...Bey sold more albums than her (compare their first 8 album sales and bey outsells her, touring..well, you already know). 1
Vegvisir Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Gaga is literally the biggest female box office draw, a multiple oscar nominee, her last album went #1, won a grammy and its tour broke records with only 20+ dates. ATRL is OBSESSED with discrediting and minimizing Gaga's outstanding career. It's f*cking wild.

Gaga is very much still here and just yesterday she oustreamed Beyoncé on spotify who has released more music this year than Gaga the entire decade. It's pretty ironic to talk about "cheapening brands" when Taylor just released her worst most bland album and is out there selling it bundled with her pubes. Taylor is not the one bundling her album with SHEIN quality jockstraps, sis. 2

Enrique523 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I agree about Gaga and Katy but i think it's too soon to say that Beyonce surpassed Rihanna, we need to see what performance a new Rihanna album would have before saying that. Rihanna's catalogue has aged WAY better than Beyonce's in every metric, especially on Spotify. 1
Popboi. Posted July 13 Posted July 13 5 minutes ago, Vegvisir said: Hope you know what a bundle is, no album was included with the wall clock. But you know what was included with an album? These "signed" inserts Or this lovely $60 "pillow" And not only the infamous jockstrap, thong and briefs too 3
kimberly Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Taylor and Bey also did their own iterations of "recession pop" tbh... we can sit here and argue about which of them is more generic (it's Katy) but at the end of the day, these are all huge pop singers. of course they chased a trend at one point or another, even Taylor and Bey. I think it's disingenuous to include the Rihtired musician on this list, she's still streamed extremely well and her most recent album is her best effort. Gaga is more complicated, but she certainly seems to struggle on the GP relevance front unless it's for a collab a la "Rain on Me" or "Shallow." Katy is miles behind everyone in this group. She's fully in the "cute for a throwback" zone. Her last good song is 5 years old even though she's dropped an album and a new lead single since then.
