aesthetic bih Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Yup, Katy successfully killed her career. Congrats I guess. Literally no one is on her side this era 5
Riverbank Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Joyride outpeaking in the US is insane And I don't think this will catch on like Kesha's song. I can't believe she had so much nostalgia hype and goodwill recently and somehow still manages to misfire on all fronts
Stepfon Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Karma for that ONE Katy stan who would always be quick to post Cardi's Spotify numbers and now Katy is (once again) belly flopping. 6

Literally no one is on her side this era Yep, before this era sure she was a punching bag but her worst crime was being a bit cringy and giving soccer mom energy. Nothing sinister. But collaborating with a rapist has really ruined any chance she had. It's a shame because she had a lot of people anticipating her comeback and genuinely wanting to see her to succeed, but this is the path she's chosen so she can face the consequences now. 6 6

It certainly ain't impressive but it's not a flop debut either. We'll see how it fluctuates in the next days but it's probably going to decrease fast. 11

By the Water Posted July 13 Posted July 13 It's true that twitter hype doesn't translate into actual numbers but if she actually delivered a decent song not produced by a rapist at least she'd have twitter gays on her side. She managed to alienate the only demographic that still checks for her in 2024. Even her 5 fans are divided on this. Crazy that no one on her team saw this coming 9 2

Do y'all ever stop and think maybe Kesha doesn't want to be indefinitely entangled with that man and brought up in conversation wherever he is and vice versa? Do you even care how she feels, or is it worth it just to get a cheap jab in at Katy's expense? Deplorable. That said, this is a massive bomb for Katy. She should demote it to buzz single stat immediately and drop one of the vastly superior snippets as the next single... preferably "Lifetimes". I keep seeing your posts and I think you are pathetic. We're celebrating that Kesha, as an independent artist, is about to do better than her abuser teaming up with an artist that gave said abuser his highest amount of success, and on top of that, backed up by Capitol. You and certain other users are the ones who don't give a **** about abuse victims. Thankfully many other Katy Cats learned to sit this one out. You should do the same. 12 20 3
taylor__fan Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) Everything is just so sad, all the potential gone away. The fact that it has taken several years of people only listening to her iconic hits to forget the cringe that were the witness and smile eras, and she chooses to comeback with a completely forgetable, basic, bridge-less song produced by HIM, I swear she is 1 month away and a meltdown from openly supporting Trump in the elections. After so many years of stanning her, and thinking she had the potential to do something right this time... To end up like this... I feel so pathetic. Edited July 13 by taylor__fan 5 1

She delivered a string of decent, non-Luke songs in 2020-22, with luscious, long wigs on, and still none of you homos bought any of the Smile variants. And neither did I. If anything, her desperate efforts to get twitter gays specifically on her side is part of her downfall. Trisha, Gretchen, "wig", "giving the gays what they want" on the Alesso collab, the drag queens on SNL... We were never her demographic. We were not the force behind Roar or Firework. I get that someone at Capitol told her an aging popstar needs a gay following and that her most viable alternative (making music for females 16 - 35 that love cats and reading) is taken, but Katy the gay mother just won't happen 5

Moonlight Nation Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) Even Ice Spice and Central Cee's collaboration debuted higher in the US - at #90. Ice Spice's 4th single for the upcoming album, which was coming off the widely mocked "Think U The Sh*t (Fart)" and the major underperformances for "Gimmie A Light" and "Phat Butt". Let that sink in Edited July 13 by Moonlight Nation 9

And it's downhill from here, JOYRIDE can't relate. Yeah i have to say: when i see the way so many Katy stans started viciously attacking Kesha just because they felt they HAD to defend L*ke out of loyalty to Katy it completely turned me off this era before it even started. And that was before we realized the song was gonna be this bad quality-wise I find it so weird the way people literally lose their souls in the name of pop stars and become the worst bullies imaginable out of loyalty to their "faves", it was NEVER supposed to be that serious in the first place. I feel so bad for Kesha for having to go through this all over again just because some Katy stans felt she was "ruining" Katy's comeback 10 10
Popular Post State of Grace. Posted July 13 Popular Post Posted July 13 Dr Luke? ✔ Empowerment song? ✔ Black hair? ✔ Titties? ✔ American sexy bimbo from 2010? ✔ Hit ❌ Lower than Never Really Over (2019) and Chained To The Rhythm (2017) is crazy considering how small Spotify was back then compared to now. Even Daisies (2020) outdebuted in the US (#43, 575k streams). The fact that it's that close to Small Talk alone is.... She could have had a pretty nice and acclaimed "comeback" with something like Harley's In Hawaii, a dance album with bops like 365/Never Really Over, or maybe even going back to her pop-rock roots and serving an album with Dan *****? She had people rooting for her (at least in Pop music listeners circles) and I was one of them. But she chose to sacrifice her morals and ruin all of the goodwill she had for a colossal bomb and songs that sound like **** Pop and Feed The Beast rejects, not even good material. Happy for her and all the rape apologists that have been defending her. 3 16
Technicolor Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Oh that's not.. I don't even think the song is that bad but it is not lead single material at all.

I feel so bad for Kesha for having to go through this all over again just because some Katy stans felt she was "ruining" Katy's comeback I keep seeing Kats EVERYWHERE (ATRL, Instagram, Twitter, Lastfm, YouTube, etc.) saying Dr Luke is innocent TO THIS DAY and making up lies about her legal battle. I've seen them bodyshame Kesha to the point she had to acknowledge it on her Instagram (which only made these same haters say she victimizes herself and asks for sympathy). I've seen them trying to ridicule her comeback every step of the way, from the gas station photoshoots to the first day streams of JOYRIDE. Not all of them are this way, but many of them are and they're truly vile. Edited July 13 by ChooseyLover 2 10
