Can y'all post a summary lol

Long story short…Meg played in Cardi face to get in good graces with Nicki on their IG live together (and even call her the Lil Pump of female Rap :skull:).  And hinted that they were gonna "get into some things" later off camera about some artists that supposedly don't write their ****.

Now looking at the timeline, what other female rapper could they have been possibly talking about?!   It was def Cardi.

And then BOOM "WAP" comes along, and she's besties with Cardi apparently.  :rip:   She's totally in her right to collab with whoever (or to change her mind about whoever).  But how she was moving definitely was giving "social climber."  Love her, but it is what it is. 100% could see why Nicki was felt used.

Now….all of this doesn't warrant all the disses and shots thrown over the past few years.  They really could've hashed it out…and kept it moving.  It's not THAT deep, but it's deeper than "oooo

Nicki is mad b/c WAP was successful"…that's leaving out a key piece of the story.

Both got ugly + personal with their shots.  But I really think if Meg would've remained neutral, "WAP" wouldnt have cut as deep as it did for Nicki.

Because she's a mainstream rapper that's actually good at her craft, has 3 Grammys something she will never attain and threw shots to their cult leader like no else has before besides Remy (and even then it didn't sting as much bc Hiss went #1 and caused that rapist breeder to spiral)

Girl bye she's cut off literally anyone and everyone that's shown Cardi an ounce of love. And you're making it seem as if she compared Cardi to Lil Pump in a derogatory way when the context was that Cardi made hits for the club (as he did back then) and that she wasn't a lyricist.

Megan has always shown love to both Cardi and Nicki. WAP becoming as big as it did humbled her and that's that

It pretty much kicked off when Megan did WAP with Cardi. I always found it funny because I remember a time once where Nicki stated another artist's beef with another artist isn't her beef. I think it might have been around the time Drake and Meek were beefing and she wanted to stay cool with both. You'd think she'd understand better than anyone else that Megan working with Cardi doesn't mean she has a problem with Nicki. But no, Nicki took it personally.

The point is that she didn't think very highly of Cardi's talent.  But her tune was way different after "WAP"…:celestial5:

I just can't understand how someone goes from throwing unwarranted shots to thinking they're one of their best collaborators (enough to think they should be doing a whole EP together).  I got whiplash from that change.  :rip:

And yes, Nicki does cut off ppl who show love to Cardi…but Meg wasn't moving right either.  They both were in the wrong.  :michael:

She enjoys collaborating with her and views her as a good human being. That actually goes a long way over grovelling for collaborations as she makes all her minions do. And even then she has cut off BIA, Coi Leray, Sexyy Redd has thrown shade at JT even a few weeks ago, had a public feud with Latto and was trying to lock Ice Spice into a shitty deal with her record label.

The same way you're saying that Megan used Nicki, Nicki has used PLENTY people for commercial success, most recently Barbie World is an example. I just don't even understand how anyone can be on the side of someone who's clearly the common denominator in all the mess and was telling someone to co hire up their dead mother. Like bffr she's a ville, bitter hag that got dumped by a rapist.

This sounds like a reasonable cause for static between two artists to me. If I thought we was moving one way and you backdoor me after I would probably feel a way. I didn't really follow this at the time tho. I didn't think Barbz was getting in a bag until Hiss lmfao

LOL @ WAP being brought up

Megan was being fake and things got back to Nicki.

Plus, Megan was dating Pardi, who writes for Cardi (Meg shaded her on live for having writers). Like…would you be cool towards someone screwing the person who writes disses toward you?

It can be true that two people could've handled a situation better.  It doesn't have to be about sides.

Tbh I don't even listen to PF2, b/c the whole era has been so dark (mainly from Twitter Barbz antics — especially going to her mom's grave, etc).  Because to my knowledge she didn't even speak out about her fans doing that ****, which is ridiculous.

So, no, I'm not "on her side" on many recent things that have went down — but that doesn't erase that Meg also played a part in the initial rift between them.

Really? Youre so hateful that you have to start making things up. As far as I know she is still okay with all those girls with the exception of Latto. I guess you cant expect a super fan to remain objective. Notice how fans here have said nicki was wrong too.

Im not going to defend nicki for the recent mess, but folks are acting like Megan didn't try to humiliate her and her husband publicly. Especially after nicki had said that she had dealt with anxiety after being swatted multiple times, and then Megan decided to frivolously promote the fact that her address is online so she can sell her vapid song. Good people don't do things like that. Meg started the attacks on her family and that's why everything blew up the way it did.

Tbh that's not even true. Nobody went there, and celebs rarely tell their fans to chill. Also the state nicki was in, it was the barbs telling her to chill lol.

Funny how you say we need to live in the present when you brought up data from more than a decade ago.

Dumb thread. Nicki and Meg fell out publicly, its that simple. I think the barbs felt betrayed by the wap thing because barbs really pushed for the link up. Megan was always talking about Nicki and how much she loves her, and would downplay cardi. And then a year after did she the song with cardi, and pretended nicki didn't exist. Nicki unfollowed her, megan released I did it, and seeing green came after. It was back and forth for a long time until meg started with the personal jabs, and it boiled over.

And calling Megan an alcoholic isn't a personal jab?

Megan is pretty harmless and yet Barbz don't get their (good) feet off her neck.

There was one line in Hiss about Megan's law, but if we're being honest, she could've been talking about a number of different people. The shoe just fit Nicki :toofunny2:

I've also seen some crazy Barb conspiracy theories about Megan trying to force Nicki to drink whilst she was pregnant. This is funny to me, because Nicki was the one pouring moscato down Megan's throat (7:42):

So what's the real reason? Barbz spend a lot of time talking about how Megan is a flop with no bars, yet she's always on their minds. Even in any threads about her music, they're posting more than Megan's fans. Please help me to understand this.

WAP

3 grammy's

1/4 of the catalog but the same amount of #1 hits on the hot 100

One of those #1  hits is with Beyonce

Youth

Body

HISS (0 for 2 in female rap battles)

In a nutshell.

Sad, that she is goes at the girls like they are peers. Beyonce would never do that to Sza. Missy would never do that Lizzo. Rihanna would never do that to Doja. then again these legends have sturdy solid legacies outside of their fanbase.

- Connections to Jay-Z (reason #1) & Beyoncé (on a number-one, Grammy-winning single)

- She's booking all the shows and endorsements Nicki would've previously been first pick for had the attached "drug" and "rapist" baggage not made her a massive liability.

- Meg's management (Roc Nation) helped her get out of a bad label situation instead of watching someone like Wayne sell her masters for chump change while she languishes without ownership.

- Age resentment + "sisterhood" of OG and new female rappers welcoming her in.

- Ability to dance + no pressure from her OG Juicy J to inflate her body unlike Wayne & Gucci.

- an early support system of Parents & Grandma that gave her the tools to succeed / graduate.

- Friendship/Business with Cardi B. Nicki chose Ice Spice, BIA, and Coi Leray.:lmao:

- "Hiss" vs. "No Frauds" in terms of success and effectiveness? Easy answer.

I think see the "Megan's Law" line as a dig to Nicki's family is kind of tongue in cheek, but okay.
