If Gaga herself got her approval, then Chappell's the real deal :clap3:

I like her music but the public persona is warmed-over "She's So Unusual" Cyndi Lauper at best:suburban:

yeah, I can see it

her progeny, to be a bit more accurate :clap3:

I think Billie is even more like Gaga's daughter—they both rose to fame through shock value in their art, share a love for dark horror elements in their music and videos, had massive debut eras, have very distinct fashion styles, and thrive on beautiful ballads along with irresistible dance bops, etc etc.

People here are underestimating her. Her album is top 10 on the Billboard 200 with no top 40 hits which means people are consuming her music as a whole. I'm a casual listener but she's coming lowkey, maybe not as immediate as Sabrina or Olivia did but it's gradual

More like Cindy Lauper, which, from how things are right now with Gaga, it's kinda more preferable.

Some of yall are such bitter old queens, and for what? :doc:

Anyways, I don't think she's close to Gaga musically (except maybe 1-2 songs that I could hear on The Fame). She gives off a mix of Kate Bush/Cyndi Lauper and The Family Jewels-Marina more in that regard. But her drive, stage presence,  looks, campiness, and recklessness do remind me of early GaGa. They both were also dropped from their labels before smashing so I guess that's something else in common too. :skull:

I do hope that Midwest Princess manages to get even half of The Fame's success because she deserves it.

Girl I don't know, I like her style and she seems like a nice person but her music is so forgettable. Gaga had bops for days. Chappell is more singer songwriter stuff over really thin 80s synthpop.

Aww, that video of Gaga performing Just Dance brought back so many memories. I remember being 13 and hearing The Fame for the first time and my life was literally changed, LOL. She was the first concert I went to and she was supporting the damn Pussycat Dolls :dies:

Anyways -  I agree the rise of CP feels super similar to that of Gaga. I am obsessed with Chappell and can't wait to see what comes next. I get more of a Cyndi Lauper & Stevie Nicks kinda vibe from her music, but her presence/persona reminds me a lot of Gaga. However, I do feel like Chappell will struggle more with being famous and I hope she has a good support system around her. I wouldn't cope if she went into hiding, I need her to release Subway  :duca:

Other pop girls like Halsey, Poppy, and Ava Max have also been dubbed Gaga's daughters

Halsey?
Poppy?

I've never heard them being dubbed as that

Maybe Poppy because she is more experimental (but still, she is far too different of a vibe from Gaga)

but Halsey? she is giving much more indie tea and even Avril/P!nk type of "rebel" pop star

ot: I never understood how some fans Hear Gaga in Chappell?

(tbh I only hear her on Super Graphic Ultra Modern)

I personally can hear Shania Twain (maybe it's the voice), I see the comparisons with Marina

and even Taylor Swift

I heard that 'Good Luck, Babe' song for the first time the other day and it kinda reminded me of Kate Bush's 'Cloudbusting'.

I like Chappell but go and read her interviews and y´ll se how she hates fame. She exploded too fast. It was not a sabrina career...climbin and adaptin to fame.
It will make her mental issues worst. I love this queen but huge titanic fame could go very bad for her :giraffe:

Success-wise we shouldn't hype her up THAT much. Gaga was literally current-Taylor level of huge one year after breaking through with her lead single but it was because she was completely unique in commercial music back then. Chappell looks like she's been influenced by Mother Monster herself (and Kate Bush) and she could be the Gaga of today just a lot less commercially successful (albeit still very successful) and could be considered Gaga's daughter but no one should expect her to become as big as Gaga.

Gaga was bigger than taylor. She was a cultural phenomenon across all the demographies and it impacted fashion-videos-music-gay rights :giraffe: taylor fame is catered to her small teen fanbase. Huge but not as large.

Both Taylor and Gaga have experienced omnipresence. But each has peaked differently: Taylor album sales and tour, Gaga unavoidable smash hits and instant impact on pop culture/everyone copying her. Both entered the discussion of being the next Madonna based on their peak. So it's comparable. But Gaga was much more polarizing and took risks which turned off many people and so her downfall happened. Taylor is much safer and caters better to her core fanbase which makes her have ongoing popularity.
