nostalgia Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Chappell Roan is quickly becoming the Lady Gaga of our generation. Remember when Gaga first hit the scene? She came out of nowhere, and her music slowly seeped into our collective consciousness until we were all hooked. Chappell's rise feels a lot like that. Her breakout song took its time but eventually won over the general public, making her a beloved new star. Chappell's performances also bring major Gaga vibes. Think back to when Gaga was doing wild, captivating shows at places like the Miss Universe pageant, leaving everyone wondering, "Who is this girl, and why can't I look away?" What really makes Chappell Roan stand out, though, is her fearless authenticity. Like Gaga, she's unafraid to be herself, experimenting with fashion and exploring her sexuality through her art. Chappell's bold style and creative expressions remind us of Gaga's early days, pushing boundaries and challenging norms. Other pop girls like Halsey, Poppy, and Ava Max have also been dubbed Gaga's daughters, emerging with unique styles and strong personalities. However, despite their talents, they didn't quite fit the mold Gaga started, each carving out their own distinct paths. Gaga herself hasn't shown the same level of receptiveness to these artists as she has to Chappell Roan. While Halsey brings an emotional rawness, Poppy experiments with avant-garde aesthetics, and Ava Max delivers catchy pop anthems, none have captured the essence of Gaga's blend of audacity and authenticity quite like Chappell. This makes Chappell's emergence feel like a true continuation of Gaga's legacy, resonating deeply with fans who have longed for that same electrifying spirit. 7 2 3 4
Popular Post Happylittlepunk Posted June 19 Popular Post Posted June 19 Yes and we are here for it. Even Gaga herself is here for it. 15
Venice B Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I think every body is hyping this Chappell girl a little too much. From what I've seen she has some cute songs but she strikes me more as some Marina & the Diamonds kinda girl at best. 15 2
xXavril Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I don't see any other pop star being so openly pro everything while wearing a Statue of Liberty costume 1 minute ago, Josh said: I only hear about this woman's name on here. Might want to expand your horizons and get out of your ATRL bubble then! Bonaroo just had to place her on a bigger stage because of her popularity 1
NOW Posted June 19 Posted June 19 (edited) Her Gov Ball intro kind of reminds me of Gaga's early festival show intros...iykyk Edited June 19 by NOW
Doctor Dick Posted June 19 Posted June 19 (edited) Success-wise we shouldn't hype her up THAT much. Gaga was literally current-Taylor level of huge one year after breaking through with her lead single but it was because she was completely unique in commercial music back then. Chappell looks like she's been influenced by Mother Monster herself (and Kate Bush) and she could be the Gaga of today just a lot less commercially successful (albeit still very successful) and could be considered Gaga's daughter but no one should expect her to become as big as Gaga. Orsay Posted June 19 Posted June 19 She's not even close to Gaga's debut in scale or pure cultural zeitgeist, let alone quality. I like her though and see some of the parallels, maybe she will continue to blow up and prove me wrong 1

cuteboyzay Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Absolutely not. And I'm not even a Gaga stan and I STILL say No. Chappell Roan may have the same qualities as her but this comparison between Chappell and Gaga is incredibly redundant and will only hinder Chappell if y'all keep comparing them two. They are two totally completely different artists, and the genre of music Gaga was making was incredibllyyyy different. There will never be another breakout quite like Gaga's in a little while, and holding onto that nostalgia of what it FELT like when Gaga was at her peak will only hinder Chappell. 1 6
GentleEarthquake Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Poor girl just debuted and ATRLers are already saying deluded things about her 1
BigBangStan Posted June 19 Posted June 19 (edited) She is more like a modern day Cindy Lauper than Gaga Edited June 19 by BigBangStan 1 2
