ariananext Posted May 28 Posted May 28 I know it must've been hard for her to take a stance on this, she was victim to a terrorist attack and blamed for the death of her fans by online trolls for ages. I hope the backlash (ala Gigi Hadid) from sionists won't trigger her trauma. I know it's the bare minimum but I'm proud of her for using her platform. 13

It's all about image. So.. If she doesn't post she doesn't care. If she posts a link pushing others to donate, you assume she did not donate herself. If she donated silently, her impact would've ended with the donation, so she would be called out for not using her platform. If she posted and clearly stated the amount donated, people would've said it's performative activism and call her actions disingenuous. Next time we should suggest Ariana Grande to do an ATRL poll before speaking up about an ongoing genocide. Edited May 28 by ariananext 29
State of Grace. Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Well that's definitely something. Hope to see more of it. Her stance has been clear from the posts that she likes and the ceasefire letter but it would be better to see her actually post a statement condemning what's happening, share videos and images from outlets reporting on Palestine and journalist pages, etc to her ~380M followers. We're nearly 8 months into this genocide, I really can't applaud these celebs for the absolute bare minimum and for doing what they're supposed to be doing. 6 2

I'm inclined to believe it's the latter, since she could have easily taken care of the remaining difference apart from raising awareness. 4

ariananext Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Just now, Loca said: No, you need to work on your reading skills. She should do both, she has the influence, income and time to do them. 1) you do not know how much she donated, to which organizations (could be multiple) or anything of sort, she shared a single story with no description, and she doesn't owe you any more details. 2) it does NOT matter what these people's intentions are, if they're using their power and their platform to raise awareness, it's good. If you think about this **** it means this is no more than a stan matter for you. 4 1
