Great808 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 BMS was almost a whole decade late to the Retro House sound and had it actually debuted while that era was around it still would have sounded dated. 1

Well, there are qualities in all 4 songs that i love. These are all amazing songs, i love this sound. The next artist i'm aware of that hopped on this trend is Dua Lipa. Dua Lipa has many single choices for this album still. You know Whatcha Doin was written and recorded before Espresso right? Also Espresso didnt bring back the sound, more like it extended the countless lists of songs of this style which came after comeback of heavy funk-bass songs such as "Say So" and then Future Nostalgia.

Erreur2 La Nature Posted May 28 Posted May 28 So many lately. Stupid Love, Love On, Single Soon, Manjobi, Doctor, Break My Soul, most of shakira's singles this decade too

Yes. I know there are many songs in this style. But Say So doesn't sound quite as close to or as quality as the ones i posted.

Jump would've fared better if it was buzz / promotional single shortly after it was recorded back in 2012. Jump still hits and still sound fresh. Edited May 28 by Phaunzie
pride4jc1222 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Boy's a Liar by Pink Panthress This sounds like something that would smash in 2000-01, not 2022-23.
