And she won't have anymore on this 14 track album. Meanwhile Megan has the 3rd most amount of Billboard charting hits for a female rapper, and she has the 2nd most amount of solo songs behind the so called queen of rap. So keep moving that goalpost and excusing why yall can't get these girls to match Megan. 3

Nicolette Posted May 27 Posted May 27 1 hour ago, professor2000 said: I agree. But even her current singles are underperforming compared to her own past singles. I know "HISS" went #1, but it served no longevity. Megan's past singles used to be able to stick a bit longer. Also, I find it confusing how all the girls underperform on the charts, but have no problem filling arenas. Like…? Are fans only there for the social experience? Because they're not buying/streaming the music (at least not the new music). Same can be said for Doja and Nicki latest eras too. At least with Nicki, ppl are prob going to her shows b/c of the extensive catalog of hits. Doja and Nicki are also crossover artists with lots of hits no surprise there. Cardi should be able to sell out arenas too but she has no momentum now. Tbh Megan doesn't have a lot of hits but she is a popular female artist, and I think that's all it takes now. Missy elliot is also having some success which would have been unheard of 5 years ago. 2

bad guy Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Isn't she independent? People seriously underestimate just how much a label works to keep their artists songs on the charts. Radio being one of them which I don't think Megan has. BOA video is fire and the sample knocks but I think having Gwen's "take a chance you stupid hoe" instead of the "womp womp womp" part would have elevated the song way more. As far as rap girls are concerned she's still big. 2
Jay L Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I think Megan is doing just fine imo but that one user calling all the other female rappers hoodrats and hating is so messy This is one of big reasons female rappers can't get on the level of some pop girls. Their fans are toxic too but the female rap fans take it to another level imo. Too many would rather get a kii off calling others a flop than supporting the girls. While male rappers flourish the women have to deal intense comparisons and stan wars. Sad when there's so many great ladies in rap who deserve better. 2
Zaminamina Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I honestly enjoy her personality. She needs to engage more with her core fanbase on social media and appear more relatable. Then she also needs a collab with a big star to be in the radar again (Look at Post Malone now getting hit after hit by singing with B, Taylor, and Morgan).
punisher Posted May 27 Posted May 27 i mean she kinda needs to find a middle ground for her singles, she should just make a catchy fun song to get a hit instead of trying to be serious and deliver this weak hook like she did with BOA. Wanna Be was a hit cause it was just an ass shaking lighthearted song, and if she dropped a 'Body' today it would have similar success as it did in 2021 And that goes for all rap girls, we're in a period where they stopped making fun music, especially the big 4, and that's why sexyy red is getting more hits than them
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted May 27 ATRL Moderator Posted May 27 charts have not been kind to female rap and other rap music in general lately but of all her singles this era my fave is Wanna Be and that did decently so I won’t say anything is going wrong just singles picked won’t have any longevity. Not fun enough to go viral but sadly not radio friendly either
Dreajae Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Don't get me wrong, I love a good hood jam but I'm calling out all the female rappers and their so called fans. Cause alot of yalls faves was fake and chose a side when no one asked their ass to. They were hoping for a career boost and still don't have it. Catch it. Sexyy is being championed over Megan for her Drake connection when when she has naughty tapes, babies she can barely take care of, brags on stds and supports Trump cause of stimulus checks. Don't sit here and lie about Megan's Roc Nation connection helping her chart when she already had Big Ole Freak charting and Fever at #10 before signing. Thos was also before HGS! She is the commodity who had her royalties going towards to Erica Banks' BBL. I dont take the bulk of female rap fans seriously cause yall got so many requirements for Megan and don't like her cause she sleeps with who she wants while staying focused on her career. From 2021 to now I've watched many of yall hype up the wrong ones with so many excuses. I just saw yall excuse 3 particular rap girls in the last 2 weeks alone. And it's giving opp with suggesting that Meg needs to sign major. Why when the same girls are charting the same amount of time, unless they have radio, and have a budget that they can't pay back with their albums and tours? 1 1
IsidoraMarí Posted May 28 Posted May 28 She needs to use a different producer. I appreciate her for her loyalty but it's starting to give Da Baby 1
Damien M Posted May 28 Posted May 28 People want to support her but the singles aren't hitting. BOA is a very noisy song and the video is expensive but chaotic. 1
