she was never really passionate about music

now she's getting her coin elsewhere and a music career is too much of a hassle for her to even bother at this point

Posted (edited)

We praised anti too much so she's scared to release an album with only a handful of good songs again.

this is our fault

Plus she's making so much more money now than she ever did with music. Why would she care tbh. She's set for generations. She's achieved her goals with music.

she became to much of a perfectionist who became worried about getting both hits and critical acclaim instead of just bops.

it's no secret that she has recorded a good deal of music since anti but has scrapped the songs since they don't sastify her standards.

There's nothing that went "wrong"

She's successful, have a loving family and is very happy

Music was never her passion. She came from a small island in the middle of nowhere to america.. Money was her only dream. Good that she got it now. Besides anything she releases will flop. Those 2 songs she released for that Marvel movies in 2022 bombed into oblivion. She is good for a 2000s throwback

everyone's releasing except for the Kim Kardashian of Music. even though i've given up, where did it all go wrong?

Is it:

A lack of passion

Failure to assemble writing camps during covid

Inability to make a better record than ANTI

Walking out of the Grammys 0/8

Makeup and Avon paying more

What's the most logical reasoning?

When Fenty Beauty made her a billionaire

Posted

She had HORRIBLE experiences within the music industry and her label was overworking her, so she decided to avenge Rated R with Anti before leaving for good.

I think its when she became a billionaire with her makeup brand, Or maybe when she became one of the biggest music icons in the world, or MAYBE it was when she had two precious children with her partner. Theres just SO many ways her life has gone wrong. #PRAY4RIHANNA. :jonny2:

Exactly

A couple years ago I heard someone mention that from a purely financial/branding standpoint, it isn't worth it for her to risk flopping with a comeback to music after creating a billion dollar beauty brand. And tbh it feels like that Lift Me Up song was her testing the waters, and it failed :deadbanana2:

idk, I'd love for her to come back but at this point I think she's simply done with music, her last few full-time stans hanging on might have to retire soon if she doesn't do sumthin quick

I don't think she was ever passionate about music and she makes more money with her Fenty brand than Music. I don't hate Rihanna but I wish her fans and her would be honest. Rihanna has made her impact and sold plenty of records and now is on her Business-Woman **** and I respect it.

Was never  passionate about music yet left her whole life to move to a new country on her own as a teenager, release 7 albums in 7 years (8 in 11 years)???

Do you know how hard she had to grind to get to even her third album? She didn't even make any money off the Last Girl on Earth tour because she would literally do a million brand deals just to get an album made or video shot. If she was never passionate about music at one point she would have moved on long ago since she wasn't even making money

Why are we comparing Rihanna and Melanie Martinez?

One is (or was) a mainstream artist and the other one isn't. One had the best writing camps making hit-songs for her and the other one writes songs herself. No shade to Rih or Melanie but I don't get it.

Didn't know debuting at #2 on Billboard with 8M first-day streams on Spotify was considered a flop. Most of your faves can't do this with their lead singles and she did it with a soundtrack.

When she was dropping every year y'all were saying she was a label puppet who releases too much, now that she's taking her time and refuses to release a project that's not up to par with the standard she set with Anti y'all saying music was never her passion. Make it make sense. It's only the people who never really liked her who push that narrative. Pure bitterness because she's currently outstreaming your faves without lifting a finger, with no album in 8 years, while living her best life. 😭

She definitely has something up her sleeves, there's no way she won't release either at the end of this year or the start of 2025.

Where? On ATRL, the site where stans literally ebb and flow depending on the success of their fave and how often they release?

She made some much more easy money from her brands. She can easily release an album, but for music to be really profitable, you need to promote, film music videos, do a world tour. I don't think these fit into her current schedule as a mother and have a huge business. So it's only understandable for her not to release,

nothing went wrong .. she just stopped caring for music.  But she still looking like a goddess every bloody day

And that doesn't change the fact that her fans have been 8 years without listening new music from her (and they will spend 8 years more without it) so a lot went wrong.

That's false, and even if that was true, why do you care ?

Nothing went wrong. She became a billionaire, has two beautiful children with the man she married and despite not releasing in 8 years, her catalogue is still outstreaming a lot of her contemporaries. Gen-Z were children when ANTi came out and yet you seem them dancing to her music on tiktok. I think it's impressive and just shows how powerful she is without doing much of anything.
