No Doubt, Paramore, Blondie.

Blondie probably has the highest highs singles wise but No Doubt's Return of Saturn is practically a perfect album. Same with Paramore's After Laughter.

Paramore. But Fallen and The Open Door from Evanescence are two of the best albums from all those artists.

There's no "factual answer". Music is subjective. It all comes down to personal preferences when choosing an option.

Blondie is the most impactful band out of the bunch, though. Followed by Hole.

Sales are objective and factual though (beyond your low rent faves citing Blondie as being influential on them) and the bulk of those other groups sales are also from the pre-streaming era:

Blondie = 40 million albums sold

No Doubt = 33 Million albums sold

Evanescence = 31.9 million albums sold

Garbage = 17 million albums sold

Paramore = 8 million albums sold

Hole = 3 million albums sold

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts = 2.8 million albums sold

Guess who is on the poster behind Shirley Manson in this video, that's right Debbie Harry the lead singer of Blondie:

Other random examples of Blondie's influence on pop culture and fashion:

And for aesthetics:

Also, I believe the name Harley Quinn from "Suicide Squad" is a cultural reference for many here and guess who inspired the character's look:

Haven't heard most discographies, but Paramore has hands down an exquisite discography, remarkably solid.

Idk why you're providing these receipts since this thread is about BEST discography, not BIGGEST.

I literally said Blondie is the most impactful out of these options, and they're clearly the most comercially successful.

You think numbers/impact dictate which act has better music? Music is subjective, everyone has their own taste.

Um, where tf is Heart???

Their self-titled album destroys entire discographies.

The numbers the music sold for each group represents the international arithmetic and therefore the depth of the music's resonance and cultural reach.

The music you love by the acts you express fondness for were influenced in their collective childhoods by Blondie's cultural reach and inherent in that is Blondie's music that influenced the songwriting of those groups who followed in the Blondie archetype.

None of those other groups achieved  Blondie's sales and therefore their cultural impact. It is ridiculous to be in denial of these objective facts just because some events occurred prior to your birth and therefore prior to your awareness of pop culture.

Androgy, Cherry Lips, The World Is Not Enough... Garbage almost took my vote. Gave it to Evanescence because they have more classics and No Doubt is third place for me.

Not Paramore winning, like Hole and Garbage are right there. I'm sorry Garbage clears skin for a youthful look.

No Doubt is my favorite band of all time :heart2:

But I also love Blondie, Garbage, Hole, and Paramore deeply.

Blondie and No Doubt are the most impactful, followed by Hole and Joan Jett / The Runaways.

That's not it at all for the rock genre. The only thing sales confirm in rock is that you crossed over in appeal and became a pop act. In Blondie's case they have both, so i'm not shading them.

BUT most rock classics sold very little copies, but they inspired other people to pick a guitar or form bands and work their music in that sonic direction and some of those ended up bigger than the influencers for such a thing. The Clash, Velvet Underground, early R.E.M., Smiths, PJ Harvey, Wire, etc Talking Heads was arguably as influential as Blondie coming from the same scene and they never sold as much. Their albums are way more referenced too. All of those sold very little copies when they debuted in comparison to other big bands and their influence is everywhere in the genre and any rockhead in 2024 can name their songs, which wouldnt have happened during their heydays

Rock can be pop, but to have a rock classic you don't necessarily need to be a popular act. You just need following bands to pick up your pieces and continue down the path. Its like Brian Eno once said: Velvet Underground & Nico sold only 100k copies when released, but those 100k people went on to form bands

Lol so by your logic Taylor Swift is better than 95% of the other musicians, then.

Quality isnt the only factor that contributes to commercial success. "Who sold more" has an objective answer, "Who has the better discography" doesnt. And you're not that changing that :cm:
