sway Posted May 7 Share Posted May 7 (edited) If you are going to give weight to critics, at least place the obvious importance on a CUMULATIVE score of critics' reviews than basing it off a SINGLE publication review like Pitchfork. Genuinely think the only reason people salivate over their reviews is because of the Best New Music/Track series they have. Cause if other publications started doing something similar, everyone would start placing more importance on those specific publications. OT: AOTY based on the question itself, but I would say combined score of critics, not just one, also helps to determine which records stand the test of time.
