Yes and Madonna's paid tour grossed more than 225 MILLION dollars for a career total of 1.7 billion at 65 years old. And she started in the 80s when tickets were 20 bucks. Should we talk about others who barely manage to gross 100 million? 

 

I can't believe you're naive enough to come for Madonna's tour gross and longevity when... well you know. Madonna had hits across 5 decades. Others can barely clock one. Know your place.

I know you're just a troll but lemme point out a few things: free concerts that happens outside major holidays dates (say, new years eve) usually have minor buzz. Madonna (and previously, the Rolling Stones) made the economy of the city soar, hotels reservations at max capacity etc etc. She was THE event of the year. People travelled from all parts of the world to Rio just to see her. It's free because you're not paying for a ticket but u best belive that a lot of non locals spent a lot on this. This kind of event is rare.
