Did Taylor's release overshadow Duas album?

I feel like all the hype and talk went to Taylor and her album and non for Duas Radical Optimism? The timing of her release really hurt her comeback don't you think?

Yes, but I don't think anyone, not even Dua's "fans" here, were excited for the project, especially after seeing how poorly the three lead singles performed.

It doesn't need Taylor to overshadow Dua. She made no noise from the start, and with the rumour going around that her label withdrew investment in the promo (knowing it will flop eventually) - that's why we are not seeing her on TTH cover or anything

Tbf I don't think there was any real hype for her album in the first place (outside of a couple gay forums).

The real world is Swifty world. It's not Taylor's fault that the GP doesn't care as much about other artists as they do about her. :lakitu:

OP: Yes, and the Kendrick vs. Drake beef + Sabrina's emergence as the new pop bop queen aren't helping either.

All the GP is talking about is the Drake & Kendrick beef, no one is tuned in to pop atm, people are checking for hip hop.

The OP is saying people are not talking about Dua because they are busy talking about Taylor.  People only talked about first week numbers and now there's no talk at all.

Nobody was talking about this Dua album to begin with. The thread is dumb

Exactly what I ask myself whenever I see your posts about Taylor.

Digitalism

OT: People just don't care about Dua like that. FN had the pandemic and everyone being bored out of their mind to her advantage. (remember the random tiktok kids that were suddenly becoming famous back then? Now they all disappeared)

Also, there's this rap beef going on taking the attention away I guess.

No. Taylor is not the reason of Dua's flop

Just few of your delusions from last few months

"Anti Hero and Cruel Summer are not hits, they didn't even hit 1B streams yet" - CS approaches 3B and AH approaches 2B

"She is fanbase driven and GP don't care about her" - she is on her way to break monthly listeners record

"TTPD only sold good because of pre-orders, it won't have good longevity" - on its way to sell 500k second week, higher than any other album's second week this year

Aren't you tired

If ttpd like other pop album came and went

Then no album released this year even registered with GP

It's doing 70m on Day 15 , even Swifties can't do that

I was excited! True fans enjoy the music, not the chart performance.
