liquiddiamonds Posted May 6 Posted May 6 (edited) 2 hours ago, Bends said: I wanted to say that this is the era of authentic songwriters, but Sabrina is breaking records right now. GP is fleeting with dance-pop. I remember a thread that was made a while ago that asked female artists that straights loved, and I was surprised people mentioned Dua. She's very clearly shaped in a gay icon dance artist type of way, and we're the fanbase that's carrying her this era. Her best shot would've been if the GP continued on choosing her dance-pop numbers as their summer dance song for each year, but as Sabrina has proven this won't happen every year and they will go to other people for that, leaving her hitless. She's doing fine in the UK for someone in their third era. Other girls fade harder by album #2. I think she's getting the Kylie deal of "getting stuck" with hits on Europe and having a majority gay fanbase. Not a bad thing at all if she serves quality in the long run just like Minogue did. Maybe one day she will crossover in the US again like Fever did. Edited May 6 by liquiddiamonds 3 1

Støned Posted May 6 Posted May 6 The era is definitely DOA. I guess her only options would be to (1) release a deluxe/expanded version, (2) release the lead of the deluxe version (it better be good this time) , and (3) include Dance The Night Away to the deluxe version or (4) release a fourth and final single and move on to DL5 next year. 1
ctlp27 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Ngl i found these numbers odd, especially for Houdini who was steady for so long. There's really no logical reason for it to go down when the album is out. 3 1

Probably there are people that r getting Training Season instead of Houdini other people that r getting no singles at all... and before that when it came to Dua Lipa on autoplay it was the 3 album singles. It does make sense. It's sad cuz it show that the autoplay impact is consistently bigger than her album release impact, but it does make sense.
