I listened to Biophilia first and i was like wtf is this? i closed the music after the 5th song. 2 months later something in my brain forced me to relisten to the album and i was shocked after i consumed that album, i downloaded all her albums one by one. There was even a tree which explained "how to get into Bjork" and Biophilia was dead last always It was fun discovering her albums. I remember i had my pijamas on and my room was very cold and i opened debut for the first time. It felt like such a warm moment.

I haven't listened to BIOPHILIA yet, but based on audience's reception, i will save that one for last The run from Debut to Vespertine is one of the greatest artistic growth and journey i've ever witnessed, aside from Beyonce of course, but i've been her stan for decades; therefore, i might be abit bias. Bjork is such an epitome of acquired taste, but when you get it, there's such a huge pay off because of her ground breaking discography. Your comment made me force myself to give her another try, and i guess the space and settle i was yesterday in were perfect for my brain to make sense and consume the novelty of her wierdness LOL. therefore, THANK YOU GIRLLLLL very MUCH! 1
Cruel Summer Posted May 5 Posted May 5 The continued Björk discourse in here is beautiful, let me go put on Vespertine and Post and start trying to convert my IRL friends with strategies from this thread 2
Cheers Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Lana Del Rey (except Born To Die) Sabrina Carpenter SZA TWICE Frank Ocean TXT Billie Eilish & Finneas
Aristede Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Taylor Swift. Just about any other pop girl is more interesting, creative, and/or talented than her. Billie, Beyoncé, Lorde, Lana, Sia, Kesha, Miley, Rihanna, Gaga, Ariana, Olivia...the list goes on and on. Pick any one of them and you have a better artist than Taylor Swift. Yet for some reason she outsells them all and is not only the biggest artist of our generation, but also one of the biggest in music history. I just don't get it. 1
suburbannature Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Taylor as an adult. I liked her before I grew up but now nothing resonates beyond Folklore. The faceless girls atrl loves (Sabrina, Ava, Rita, Zara, Madison, Ellie, Camila, etc.). I like Billie, but don't understand the poptimism era overhyping. She has some fantastic songs but nothing to warrant her reputation yet. Charli XCX, Marina and the Diamonds. great moments here and there but a ton of filler. Demi and Selena. Those discographies Nicki. Her discography is shockingly awful. and as far as non-atrl faves, I could never get into The Who, Metallica, Tina Turner, Queen, Green Day, Eminem, P!nk 3

dawnettakins Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Taylor is #1 me. I literally tried to with her on a couple occasions to get the hype, including some of her "big" albums and they just don't do it for me bar a couple decent songs I happen to like. After her it's probably Lana then Billie. Just not into that type of vibe or music at ALL.
Roberto Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Ariana Grande. She's a great artist but apart from Love Me Harder and Into You, I just can't connect with her.
Scandalous Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Noah Kahan in theory his music is something i should love considering his peers but i listened to his album a few times and it just didn't stick with me much
LOTF Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Taylor And it's been quite a few times tbh Lately I have become more of a hater because it ain't adding up for me 1 1
Gladiator Posted May 6 Posted May 6 (edited) Charli XCX Bjork Caroline Polachek Slayyyter Edited May 6 by Gladiator
Suilen Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I listened to Laura Marling's Once I Was An Eagle because it was very acclaimed, and the cover was nice, but I didn't really like it. I want to give her another chance, though, because I think that she has some of the best concepts for albums.
