It's not an automatic contradiction. Doing one doesn't prevent you from doing another. They're perfectly capable of manipulating while releasing 20 versions to maximize chart rankings. BTS has like 5-6 #1 hits no one knows outside of maybe dynamite 1

And dynamite is a bit of a stretch since no one could make out half the words in the song. Not sure if anyone can actually tell you the name of the song. BTS has achieved a lot of success overseas but in the western markets, they are still mostly unknown.
