Kodak Energy Posted April 27 Posted April 27 1 hour ago, NoName said: Anyways, I don't get it. In that sales thread there were users saying Taylor's opening of 2+ million is more impressive than previous etc. because sales aren't a big blah blah blah blah but when I say Ed is more impressive because there were 212% less users on Spotify back then it's suddenly loud and wrong. Because you're creating a false equivalency by comparing the increase in Global Users to the increase in European streams. Despite Europe being one of the first adopters of Spotify and the majority of new users post 2017 coming from US and Spotify entering new markets (many of which don't even use English music mainly in Africa and Latin America). 1 4
Katamari Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Ed's record is impressive and Taylor's record is impressive Adele's record N/A everyone's happy now 5 3

TTPD had 31 songs and did 254,000,000 at a time when there are over 500 million active users. Divide is still much more impressive and probably had more individual listeners as well. First you claim Spotify had like 1/4 of the listeners and then you claim Divide probably had much more individual listeners lol Also, the MAU excuse is so stupid when talking about Europe considering Europe is the market in which Spotify grew the fastest. Like yeah it obviously grew but of those 340M added most are from latam & asia that are easily the biggest growing economies music wise. Look at how K-Pop, Indian music & Latin music has taken over the charts when back in 2017 when Europe was most of Spotify core barely had them. 4

taylorrrr Posted April 27 Posted April 27 All the meltdown from that one daydreamer and he holds on to an album that was released almost a decade ago rather than speak about Adele's latest release
Feanor Posted April 27 Posted April 27 The new Queen of Europe. Can't wait to see how much her profile continues to rise there after she completes her 50-date stadium tour this summer. 1

Like, why not just debate with facts? Ed's debut is more impressive with less songs and way less active users. No, because most of those new users are not European, which is what this thread is about.

Sad ok, so WE LOVE A CONSISTENT ARTIST through the decades.

The time argument is valid indeed but the number of tracks… isn't. A day is still 24 hours, I have less streams of TTPD than Midnights on first week because the album is… longer (3:56 average per song VS almost 30sec less for Midnights).

Congrats to Taylor but Ed's is more impressive regardless of how you look at it. go outside. It's Saturday Edited April 27 by Raspberries
UnusualBoy Posted April 27 Posted April 27 That pesky Adele stan keeps getting Adele dragged for no reason Anyway, insane numbers, Taylor is killing it in all fronts.
G.U.Y_Del_Rey Posted April 27 Posted April 27 But ATRL told me that she's only big in Middle America.

Some of them didn't even have a deluxe/bonus track edition. Try again. 1
