You can literally read post after post like that in the album thread, it's really strange. I like a few songs from the album, but I was pretty let down. I most certainly am not a swiftie, but I have enjoyed several of her albums (folklore, reputation, midnights even), but this wasn't it for me. Of course this will be hugely successful, even as mediocre as it is, which really speaks to the disadvantage so many other very talented artists have comparatively. I wouldn't even be surprised if she wins AOTY again for this, which would be very disappointing. Literally everyone is gagging over lyrical moments or production choices in the album thread, some of you want her to decline for the kiis so bad you've broken reality 💀 Edited April 18 by Redstreak 1

Anyone who dislikes this HAS to be a hater, it can't possibly be that... maybe they just don't like the album? What? No one in the thread says that people can't have opinions on it But if you claim that swifties hate it, people will talk about numbers which shows that... swifties actually like it, stream it and buy it Edited April 18 by WildHeart 1

Numbers don't determine people's interest on the album, people's interest determine numbers. People don't tune for albums they don't like hence the freefall... And a lot of swifties already bought it. There shouldn't be any conversation about quality related to sales until a month from now. Debut numbers won't mean anything since people are going to check it out either way. Also a lot people think lover is her worst in comparison to the others and it still doing numbers because it has hits. So no sales won't mean anything in this thread.
Nicholai Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) It is derivative but i can't blame her since her persona is boring and the music too. She has nothing to say. She has talent with words but the content is lacking. Also the production is 0 innovative for her. Edited April 18 by Nicholai

My life will be unchanged if she flops. I'd still listen to her music, if I thought it was good. I still play Folklore, and occasionally Reputation (Dress is one of the best pop songs IMO), but I'm a casual listener, and to me, this album wasn't good outside of Florida, loml, and Who's Afraid. There ARE some good lyrical moments, but the album is bland, and the production is a CHOICE, but I would hardly say there are many "choices" as it's almost like one long drawn out song. If any other big artist put this album out, it would be RIPPED to shreds in an instant. Y'all are too worried about sales, and numbers.

Rotunda Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I think it's an interesting album where it's kinda an amalgamation of elements from Folklore, 1989, and Midnights, but it doesn't necessarily excel in any of the areas the way Folklore/1989 did, nor is it as tiktokable as Midnights (on first listen). I found it pleasant though.

Well then it is safe to say that this won't chart more than 10 weeks in the top 10 since it will debut high thanks to curiosity sales/streams and swifties are panning it en masse
Strawberry Bubble Posted April 18 Posted April 18 this is NOT true. Maybe it was bad received by atrl swifties, but the majority of people I know loved this album. I didn't love it, but it's a good old taylor sound. She will be okay.
Reginald Posted April 18 Posted April 18 This album has re-confirmed to me that I will simply never understand the appeal of Taylor. Halfway through I started completely zoning out. No melodies, no hooks... no interest. 1

Shimenawa Posted April 18 Posted April 18 She needs to go back to the Folklore/Evermore quality but she is too obsessed with money and fame

Pheromosa Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I did just see a Swiftie saying they only liked 4 songs and Jack needs to go already. We'll see tomorrow

Again, idgaf about numbers and what other people think as much as y'all clearly do. Not surprised you're once again trying to derail the topic about Taylor by bringing up another artist when the topic isn't in Taylor's favor!!!!! 1
