Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'

Recommended Posts

Oooh, hearing Guilty As Sin? and The Alchemy back to back is such an EXPERIENCE

What if he's written mine on my upper thigh
Only in my mi-i-i-innnd?
One slip and falling back into the hedge maze
Oh what a way to di-i-i-i-eeee
My bedsheets are ablaze
I've screamed his name
Building up like waves
Crashing over my grave
Without ever touching his skin
How can I be guilty as sin?

Touch DOWN
Call the amateurs and
Cut 'em from the TEAM
Ditch the CLOWNS,

get the CROWN
Baby I'm the one to BEAT
Cause the sign on your heart
Said it's still reserved for ME!
Honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy?

These blokes warm the benches
We been on a winning STREAK
He jokes that it's heroin but this time with an E
Cause the sign on your heart said

it's still reserved for ME!
HonestLY, who are we to fight the alcheMY?

HOOK after HOOK after HOOK

matty was momentary

She's way too happy and in love to sell a tortured poet right now. It's for the best to move on :gaycat6:

I like KaIMee thematically because it's a great showcase of how "moving on" from anything isn't a binary process. Taylor hates Kim and, to some degree, will continue to hate her forever, but she's also healed and gained some perspective, and this gradient is reflected well in the song.

I think people are a bit too dismissive of how the Kimye drama affected Taylor because of how kindly hindsight has shown that it all worked out in her favor. But just because she ended up in a great spot personally and professionally doesn't erase the emotional damage it did to her, nor do I think this should preclude her from ever writing about it.

I also find it amusing how OTHs (and honestly just casual fans) say she needs to move on, when I GUARANTEE those same people have conversations all the time with their friends about some ***** they had tiffs with years ago. That's a part of being alive, it doesn't mean you still hold the same level of anger, but you are allowed to feel some type of way about someone regardless of how long time has passed.

I appreciate these posts as a thank you aimee critic for offering a new perspective to view the song which I hadn't considered.

Our girlie Ajay cried on Anti-Hero of course she was going to cry on emotional songs.

Can't wait to see her cry to even more on The Anthology.

She released the album to move from that part of her life. I think she released so quickly and not after the TVs were completed is because of her relationship with Travis.

5 mins in, not the stans misleading her into thinking the whole album is about Joe :deadbanana2:

Someone should also tell her that Folklore is no longer considered "imaginary" :dies:

I didn't watch her YouTube upload, but I did watch her Patreon upload and she spent way too much time processing Fortnight as autobiographical and then getting confused because Taylor Swift isn't married and then writing it as a folklore because of that. Had me cackling. Like girlie.:rip:
