Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY'

A masterpiece in songwriting :gaycat6:

Who's gonna stop us from waltzing
Back into rekindled flames
If we know the steps anyway
We embroidered the memories
Of the time I was away
Stitching "We were just kids, babe"
I said, "I don't mind. It takes time"
I thought I was better safe than starry-eyed
I felt aglow like this
Never before and never since

If you know it in one glimpse, it's legendary
You and I go from one kiss to gettin married
Still alive killing time at the cemetery
Never quite buried
In your suit and tie, in the nick of time
You lowdown boy, you standup guy
You Holy Ghost, you told me I'm
The love of your life

You said I'm the love of your life
About a million times

Who's gonna tell me the truth
When you blew in with the winds of fate
And told me I reformed you
When your impressionist paintings of heaven
Turned out to be fakes
Well, you took me to hell, too
And all at once, the ink bleeds
A con man sells a fool a get-love-quick scheme
But I felt a hole like this
Never before, and ever since

If you know it in one glimpse
It's legendary
What we thought was for all time
Was momentary
Still alive killing time at the cemetery
Never quite buried
You cinephile in black and white
All those plot twists and dynamite
Mr. Steal Your Girl, then make her cry
You said I'm the love of your life

You **** talked me under the table
Talking rings and talking cradles
I wish I could un-recall
How we almost had it all
Dancing phantoms on the terrace
Are they second-hand embarrassed
That I can't get out of bed
Cause something counterfeit's dead
It was legendary
It was momentary
It was unnecessary
Should've let it stay buried

Oh what a valiant roar
What a bland goodbye
The coward claimed he was a lion
I'm combing through the braids of lies
"I'll never leave"
"Never mind"
Our field of dreams, engulfed in fire
Your arson's match, your somber eyes
And I'll still see it until I die
You're the loss of my life

Normally I would've said no, because of the pattern of her releasing new material between TVs, but the dates just line up too perfectly this year for Debut TV and Rep TV. I do think we'll get them, and with Eras wrapping up, she'll probably take a break.

Florida!!! > GAS > WAOLOM is kinda the best one 1 2 3 punch in the album.

I would like rep in September and debut on her birthday and for her to take 2025 off…but we will see. I think the TVs have been dragged out for too long but that's just me.

GUILTY AS SIN is probably the best NON-BEYONCE songs for me this year. it's just sooo flawless both lyrically and melodically!! It's probably in her top 3 best of all time.

The fact that Matty inspired that while TRAVIS inspired HIGH SCHOOL, which sounds like the more derivative version of the former.

Japan Oricon daily

4/20 (NEW) #1 TTPD 7,305 copies

4/21 (-3) #4 TTPD

Japan doesn't adhere to the Friday release schedule so it'll have like 2 days of tracking but I think the big first day sales should be enough to go top 10 (I haven't really been paying attention to the earlier days of the chart but the #10 album last week sold 5k so...). I did a quick scan of the charts this year and this should be the 2nd album by a Western artist to go top 10 this year it looks like. The only other one was English heavy metal band Judas Priest which went #7.

The Black Dog is one of the best ballads of her career, it's honestly insane she relegated it to (initially) a variant track. :jonnycat:

i hope not, she needs to let ttpd marinate for a year and it'll just restart the overexposure "she's mass releasing" talks all over again. it's best to release the remainder two in 2025 (while she's busy with her film) and then release ts12 in 2026.

Fortnight is really a slow burner :jonnycat:, great choice for lead single

I am happy for the local Japanese scene but all Western artists collectively tanking is just a sad sight. :cries:

Is broken heart the most viewed because it's the song people like the most or is it because there was a lot more effort gone into its lyric video?

15 of the top 25 best selling albums last year were K-Pop related acts so even then :rip:

Drake still kept back at #10 :gaycat3: I know he's fuming. I wish they had combined the Fortnights sooner so he didn't get any of the press online about getting #1 on AM to really make it sting

probably both.

on both itunes and tt, it's her 2nd highest behind fortnight.

Can I just applaud Republic allowing the biggest mainstream artist in modern history to release an album that basically admits to depression and suicidal thoughts over the course of multiple different songs :deadbanana4: That's technically risky and borderline irresponsible to unleash to general audiences. But she's definitely earned the right to express herself without a filter

Midnights on day 3 had 8 songs on apple music top 10. 14 in the top 30

on day 4 TTPD has 9 songs in the top 10, 26 songs (almost the double) in the top 30. It's a smash your honor.
