Imagine if we were in the 80's/90's, her sales would have been in the tens and tens of million, probably even higher than Thrillers, I know we can't really compare with streamings and stuff but even with a fraction of people who would have buy the album instead of streaming it it would still had million of copies sold in only one day

yea, thats why a case can be made that a 2M sales in 2024 is probaly as impressive as 3.5M in 2014. for every one person who is still buying physical/digital album today, 2-5 more wouldve done it 10 years ago, rather than streaming it.
