Wasn't the whole point that she used recycled materials to make the vinyls? How is this hypocrisy?

Because no one can read I fear

People not being able to distinguish between having 9 color options available vs artists who will variants with completely different covers and tracklists :rip:

They know, but they do not care. It is all about trashing her for stating the truth. Swifties are miserable. I mean you have to be if your fave is Taylor.

I think I just ch*ked after a not-so-environmentally-friendly truck rushed by my side burning tons of CO2 just to get the 9th eco-friendly variant of Billie Eilish's upcoming 10 tracks long album in time to my nearest mall. How rude!

Oh wow... Sounds like torture...

You're asking people to read her actual quote. Too much hard work lol

She also said releasing multiple variant is chary and money hungry

And here Billie releases paint splattered variant. Yeah sure

:giraffe: Billie made the statement so OTHERS will do the work because she knew what she was planning with her era

Idgaf about this topic that seems only has one (1) fanbase bothered but why is she selling 9 variants using only 1 cover? Like that just seems stupid to me, like at least change the cover or something

You mean Billie's diehard fans will ONLY purchase ONE out of the 9 options?!?

We love a well-behaved fanbase!

But i do urge Billie's fans (including myself) to purchase more because they are all eco-friendly!

They literally do not drive up sales the same way. Some variants like that user mentioned exist only to be someone's 4th or 5th purchase. Different colours or target exclusives aren't an example of that

I can't stand Billie, but we have to be realistic here and think of how much of the decision of having this amount of variants was hers and how much of it was her label. I doubt she handles these kind of things tbh.

I guess the only thing she did wrong was to open her mouth and be annoying a few days ago. That backfired bad.

She would've been better off not saying a word about all the variations artists do if this was in the pipeline. Her argument that these vinyls are made from recyclable materials doesn't make it much better. There's still a carbon footprint associated with the production of vinyls as well as the creation of toxic gasses, even with recyclable vinyl.

ATRL skimming past the point once again. RECYCLED material y'all.

And not the Swifties coming here acting like they suddenly care about the environment when those private jets are causing the humidity to bake y'all balls till they're well done.

"This Eco-Mix vinyl is 100% recycled compound made of trimmed flash and leftovers from any color which cannot otherwise be reused. These pieces are then recycled and re-used for production of future discs. With Eco-Mix, every disc looks different from the last. All vinyl packaging is made from FSC® certified recycled paper/boards made 100% from post-consumer waste and recycled pre-consumer fibers. The ink used is raw plant-based and water-based dispersion varnish. In place of shrink-wrap, the sleeves are 100% recycled and re-usable. For shipping, all finished goods are packaged and shipped to depots in up to 93% recycled and 100% recyclable shipping boxes."

Sticking to her original point!

Not y'all falling for this greenwashing. I'm a massive Billie stan, but it's obvious.

"It's so wasteful and it's irritating to me that we're still at a point where you care that much about your numbers and you care that much about making money"

So if it's not for money or numbers, why is she releasing all these versions? It's a marketing trick to make the fans feel better about buying 8 versions, just like what Beyoncé, Taylor, Olivia and Dua are doing.

So what about the "buy 4, get one signed album" package that Billie is selling right now?:rip:

But only one artist is bragging about sustainability while selling 9+ "eco-friendly" variants of a 10-track album that will be produced and shipped globally

Unless she came up with a way to magically produce and deliver her vinyls to your doorstep without affecting the environment then she deserves to be called out for her hypocrisy

Are people still missing her point on purpose?

Unless every version has different / exclusive songs, she's not playing the same game certain other artists play, where you have to collect all variants like effing Pokemon to get the full album.

eta:

"...each on the same day, containing the same track-listing across the board and all produced with the most sustainable practices available..."

And that's the difference - for the slow folks in the back.

she's literally selling vinyl sleeves which you can only use when you buy at least 4 vinyls
