gardendreams Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Alaina Castillo - éxtasis I was just listening to BRAT so this flowed right into that experience. Moderately enjoyed! Orion Sun - dirty dancer She is very spotify-recommend core for me. As many times Spotify will recommend her to me, I just this it's ok. Crystal Murray - Too Much to Taste Hmm I don't think this one hit for me. Something about the combination of the production and her voice is a bit disjointed for me. Lucky Daye - HERicane A bop, my favorite so far. This one was smooth. If Armani sent this, her got both of his favorites in one entry. Lucky and H.E.R in the title lmaooo. Kelechi - Forever Tonight This is cute! It feels very prom-core/heartstopper-core. I have a soft spot for coming of age music lol. Regina Spektor - Samson I remember this being sent on ArSC. I thought I hated it more than I remember. She sounds pretty I guess. Charlotte Dos Santos - Away From You This was smooth and cute. I liked the production. flowerovlov - BOYS This was also cute. Was playful and fun. Kennie - Attention This was cute'ish also. I think it wasn't as exciting as the other bop'ier songs. Sinéad Harnett - Rather Be with You I didn't hate this but this did feel slightly dated. Yola - Dancing Away In Tears Not my favorite entry. I feel like it is referencing oldies music I don't particularly enjoy. Becca Hatch - Blessed wheww back to a bop! i like the strings/groovy dance'y vibe. Lunar Vacation - The Basement Stands out in this group of songs. It benefits from being sonically different but I think I moderately enjoyed the song. The Deep - BAPPI It is a yes for me! will forever be supporting Asians. Spoiler sorry baby z for one post but atrl was super laggy
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Alaina Castillo - Extasis Generally speaking, I'm not that attracted to songs that have the "oontz oontz" club banger choruses, but I thought this was pretty cool and think it worked here! Edited June 10 by Rotunda
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Orion Sun - Dirty Dancer The instrumental is quite nice and puts me in the mind of Mariah The Scientist's Spread Thin. The rest of the song's components (vocals, lyrics, etc.) are fine, but don't grip me that strongly to make me feel like this is a "must add" to my library. Edited June 10 by Rotunda
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Crystal Murray - Too Much Taste I like what Crystal was going for in this song, and am grooving a bit, but this kinda reminds me of when drag queens or influencers/social media personalities release music that sounds decent but doesn't fit their voice. Some of the background vocals or layering attempts sound particularly harsh.
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Lucky Daye - HERicanne This feels like the type of song that cleans house in every "send a male" round. It's definitely strong even if I feel like I've heard 100 similar songs before. Edited June 10 by Rotunda
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Kelechi - Forever Tonight I thought this was cute, and I wouldn't mind hearing it in the context of a movie or tv show, but it's probably not something I need to keep in my personal rotation.
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Regina Spektor - Samson "This is the type of **** Rotunda gives high points to" - @Tom Vercetti in his confessional probably I had a big Regina Spektor phase growing up - this isn't my absolute favorite song from her but it's high quality. Edited June 10 by Rotunda
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Charlotte Dos Santos - Away From You I can see why Lemur likes this. Her voice is great and reminds me a bit of Becky and the Birds. I will say, I didn't love this particular song - but I'd be interested in hearing more of Charlotte's voice.
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 flowerovlove - BOYS Genuinely one of the most fun songs I've heard it a while, really cute lyrics too. Wish it was a smidge longer.
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Kennie - Attention You have my attention. I think there's not a ton going on here, but it didn't drag at all either.
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Sinead Hardnett - Rather Be with You Definitely puts me in the mind of high school around the time Urban Flora came out by Alina Baraz. Another really cute one.
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Yola - Dancing Away in Tears Not sure exactly where this will fall for me but my feelings are positive. Edited June 10 by Rotunda
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Lunar Vacation - The Basement Love the instrumental. There were a couple of choices made during the song that had me raising an eyebrow, but overall I found this very interesting.
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 The Deep - BAPPI This was cute enough, I could see it growing on me.
Rotunda Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Becca and Tentendo - Blessed Not bad at all, but doesn't really stand out for me here
Julia Fox Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Alaina Castillo - éxtasis This was whatever I'm not too much into these disco bops that some girls have released recently tbh I mean it's not bad but I'm not impressed at all
Julia Fox Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Orion Sun - dirty dancer This act is always on some editorial playlist and I have saved a lot of their songs but nothing really stands out in a way that I'm obsessed or got me repeating for more than two times in a row but this is good, very chill and kind of vibey, probably will snag some points idk
Julia Fox Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Crystal Murray - Too Much to Taste Okay this is fun! Love how playful and carefree this is! Lemme save it cos I luv it x
Julia Fox Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Lucky Daye - HERicane Screaming at the name like so try hard lol but this song was very fun and smooth! Very summery tho! I like it yea x
Julia Fox Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Kelechi - Forever Tonight I loved the 80's vibe it was trying to convey but I don't know if I like how his vocals were processed along with the production but I know it's for the aesthetic and this was good overall x
