Davidoff Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Beyonce. Xtina. AND WHOEVER ELSE that ISNT AFRAID TO TAKE ARTISTIC RISKS AND CONSTANTLY EVOLVE AS ARTISTS.

AvadaKedavra Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Some grounbreakin and innovative artists Spoiler -Madonna above everyone. She was the piooner of so many things. Same as Janet Jackson. -Mariah Carey playing with R&B music,Hip Hop and Urban Music and bringin it to the front. One of the firsts. -Beyonce and her insane artsy visual projects and movin to new genres and makin it something grandiose -Britney changed the shape of dance pop music. She gave her own spin to it based on her musical taste. Dance pop turned into something basic to something dark and sexy -Xtina and her different personas. They were totally different. That was very interesting. Something like Back To Basics is very unique. -Gaga was very groundbreakin with her first records and she has also explored genres like Jazz, something kinda unusual for popgirls -Latino Music was very one-dimensional and Shakira changed the shape of it. She also brought so many exotic uncommon sounds and genres to the mainstream. A queen of world music-musical cocktail. She brought something more organic and natural to english music. -Katy was very innovative with the cutesy and cartoony stuff. That was unique and not seen before. Signature from her -Lana Del Rey with her retro thing. That was something never seen before -Avril turned the male pop punk from the 90s into something cool and marketable.... -Miley with her Dead Petz record. Experimenting with psychedelia is rare. -Taylor with her songwriting. Even if her albums feels similar production wise the way she experiments with her songwriting is solid........ -Demi goin full Heavy Metal-Rock with Holy ****. That was challengin to her usual commercial path. Innovative this decade Spoiler Dua Lipa: very innovative with her disco and synthwave revival. That shaped the sound of the whole decade. From basic artist to someone really ahead. Billie Eilish: doin her own thing. She has a very very unique style. Unmatched. Olivia Rodrigo: She gave a 2020s modern spin to Pop Punk-Grunge. I think thats really cool. Miley Cyrus : Her Pop Rock revival and the way she's always shifting genres-personas. Thats fresh Taylor : I think the strong Indie Folk sound of Folklore-Evermore was something very innovative and special. Not usual for the popgirlies. Hope tortured poets its something in her own lane too. Midnights was cute but kinda typical. Shakira : In a Sea of Reggaeton in Latinoamerica. Shakira makin Synthpop-Funk influenced Pop like Te Felicito-Cohete-La Fuerte. Feels like something totally brand new. Her new album has so many different genres too. Glad she's not doin the typical like other latino artists and just releasing urban music. Rosalia : The way she's mixin Urban and Experimental music is groundbreakin The one fully invested in experimenting with different genres and vibes no matter the commercial outcome. Definitely The most groundbreakin this decade Spoiler Beyonce : Of Course the Queen of Experimentation and She does it so well. Her albums feels like a cornucopia of styles but well-glued together. Leaving Urban Music and Focusing on Experimentation was the best thing she did. Beyonce is more invested than everyone else in evolvin her artistry. Crazy considering her large family. Hpw she has the time. I value a lot of how she doesnt really care about commercial success following the smae formula. She just releases the music she feels like and she has sucess with it. just my thoughts. Not facts
Lovett Posted April 4 Posted April 4 It's quite obviously Beyoncé, but those three trolls are MAD about it. 1 2 1
chaeyonce Posted April 4 Posted April 4 The most innovative pop star of her generation without contest
G.U.Y. Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Not trolling: Beyoncé is a brand, not an artist with a particular vision. She is an entrepreneur who hires some of the best producers, choreographers, directors and creatives in general to make collective art under the label "Beyoncé™". "Beyoncé™", as a collective body of work, is groundbreaking. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is not. 2 3

Bringing together the best and brightest in order to further her brand as an artistic genius.

G.U.Y. Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Popstars who are still innovative and groundbreaking: Abel Lana Del Rey Rosalía Caroline Polachek Charli XCX lost the position since 2021.

Whew the praise I praise the body of work (I said on the CC thread that I'm enjoying the album much more than I expected) that the entire team is capable of doing.

The answer is Beyoncé by a country mile and it's fascinating to witness over the decades. You don't see that drive often. So many shine bright and burn out fast.

I don't consider an artist innovative if the "innovation" that he/she produces does not come primarily from his/her mind (and that is not just doing a briefing about broad concepts or general ideas...). Putting out innovative art created by a team in which you don't have much a say can be cool, but it's almost the same of being famous for your fashion choices while paying an amazing stylist to do the work. P.S.: I would love to watch a full hour interview with Beyoncé about the making of her recent albums. Edited April 4 by G.U.Y.

Everyone that has actually worked with her has praised her for how involved and in control she is with every little aspect and of her music and not only. But ATRL f****t #17489217 knows better for sure.
