Popular Post mike_int Posted April 9 Popular Post Posted April 9 (edited) I think the Grammys performances was absolutely top class and it didnt miss anything, it had different sections, full choreo, two different set-ups, it was dramatic and punchy, the outfit was hot, she sang live and sounded great and she literally opened a f*cking Grammys. If someone was not satisfy with THAT I dont know what more you want Edited April 9 by mike_int 14 2

FN had so many big moments in that she continuously was up to stuff nobody expected from her and she was smashing it. A big problem with this whole era's reception so far is that a lot of people (and myself to some extent) expected her to meet that pressure and keep pushing herself outwards but instead it feels like she's found a comfort zone, not that she didn't work hard to get to it. Idk I just feel it's showing in everything from the choreo, the music, the visuals and the general marketing approach to this era. I think fans and stans need to realize that FN era is in the past and we should not expect Dua to live up to that. She knows herself and the record label knows that is not likely repeatable. She is starting with a fresh new slate and should not be held to those standards. She worked with non conventional producers to craft an album that she believes in, she even mentioned that she feels vulnerable because she is revealing more personal details. From the illusion choreo/rehearsals you can see from the dance that she is happy and enjoying herself and honestly that is the most important because when you really enjoy what you do, you will make sure that the final product is the best. 1
mike_int Posted April 9 Posted April 9 With FN There is also an "covid" factor which needs to be considered. We have certain type of emotional attachment to these album cause they help us get throughout the lockdowns. Except the TS video Im more than happy with this era so far, so I cannot wait for the full album and what it will brings Radical optimism, don't forget 1
Iris Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I wonder if that part with the bells in the extended snippet is the post-chorus or the bridge?

Lana Banana Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Training Season is an icon. I don't know what y'all complaining about. On one side we want her to deliver constant uninspired bops but on the other we also wanna see her growth as an artist. Pick one or deal with the golden middle road.. 3

It has a mesmerizing trance vibe when she says "Dance all night" For those who have the booklet with lyrics. Is the post chorus in the song more than once?

Is the post chorus in the song more than once? The booklet doesn't have lyrics for the post-chorus at all (probably because they're "distorted" vocals so her team didn't feel the need to print them), so we have no idea. The structure in it is: Verse 1 Pre-Chorus Chorus Verse 2 Pre-Chorus (2) Chorus (2) Bridge Chorus (x2) 1

It would be cool if the bridge was totally different sonically especially since the song lacks an outro.

Solaria Posted April 9 Posted April 9 The Grammy performance was absolutely phenomenal. Honestly I might prefer the Houdini dancebreak over the 2021 performance as a whole. 2021 Grammys performance was amazing and a massive highlight of the FN era but, in her eyes you could still see bits and pieces of insecurity and being too worried about the choreo. I felt like that energy was completely gone this time around, she was SO confident and at ease
Bad_vocal_technique Posted April 9 Posted April 9 It annoys me how she sounds shaky and out of breath sometimes as she focuses so much in coreography. She's been sounding incredible in the recent alternative studio live performances where there's no heavy dancing involved and ironically I feel more connected to those performances.
Bookmark99 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 This sounds better than TS to me (which I'm not really a fan of) but I think Houdini is still the best out of all the singles so far. 1

It's "sad" that she rebranded herself as a "full" pop star because now people expect her performances always have choreography, big production and shocking moments. Training Season is a song that needs to be sung like she did at the London Session, no choreography, just her and her band. But in the end she is selling herself as a performer and people praise her for that.
