First weeks are heavily weighted toward the front half these days since many physicals ship or sell in the first day or two, and the strongest streaming days are the first few. I think it'll land around 375k based on what that member posted.

I have all of those necessities but still have enough to splurge since it's the one thing I let myself splurge on. I think a lot of people underestimate just how many of us started with debut or fearless almost two decades ago and are still ride or die Well they're receiving them as gifts. I literally overheard this old couple at the airport around Christmas talking about gifting one of their nieces the new Taylor Swift album. That's how all of these teen acts from MJ to Britney have sold bucket loads. They receive the album from a relative as a gift for their birthday, Christmas, graduation, etc. And then of course TS also has the added bonus of being in the industry for so long and having loyal fans that are able to spend on her

Sannie Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) Respectable numbers, but still low for someone whose PR team and fans claim is the biggest in the world. Changing her genre to pander to white people for Grammy votes only netted her about 50k extra sales when her fans were on Twitter claiming EVERYONE was loving this album. On 3/31/2024 at 6:21 AM, spiritboy said: How are those numbers bad when Taylor is the ONLY female artist that will debut with higher numbers? Beyonce is slaying atm. Context. Beyonce's PR team and fans make her out to be someone who can pull Taylor numbers when she can only do a fraction. You can not possibly claim Beyonce is the biggest or whatever you guys claim and then she pulls less than 500k. Maybe if you guys did not gas her popularity up so much, this would not be an issue lol. Edited April 2 by Sannie 1 2 3 14

I mean (to give a full year context rather than Q1) if this were released 2023, she'd be one of the top 5 debuting artists of the year, the others younger than her and all but Taylor being men. In 2022 she was one of the top 5 debuting artists of the year, and this is doing better than Ren, the others again being younger men + Taylor. In 2021, this would be one of the top 5 debuting artists. In 2020, this would be one of the top 5 debuting artists... In the whole SPS era, looks like the only other artist over 40 who was on Ren/Cowboy level was Eminem, and he did it just 1/3 times (Revival and Murdered were in the 200s). Even Madonna didn't have consecutive 300k debuts at 40+: Music over, American Life under, Dance Floor over, Candy under, MDNA over. Edited April 2 by fridayteenage 3

Lady fadga is not on Taylor nor Beyonce level and will never be. Y'all should be thanking the lord that Stephani got the part in A star is Born which was offered to Bey first. I thought Y'all was murdered once Renaissance proved to be more successful than that shitty CHRO album. Y'all back from the dead trolling again. 1 8

You just make that up " Changing her genre to pander to white people for Grammy votes only"? You're " not too smart" Beyonce is bigger than her peers and your fave who debuted years later, so sad huh? 1

Considering that eminem's last two albums were released without physical copies and by surprise the comparison is not the best one, Eminem at Beyoncé's age had the second best-selling album of the year, even though it was released in November 1
Mr. Duff Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Not sure what's the problem with physicals (are they not widely available?) but the numbers feel underwhelming, I thought it would easily go 400k (with proper availability of physical sshe would for sure). However, maybe they are planning for longevity which is a great thing and I know Beyonce is a great album seller. Overall the numbers are still massive of course. Beyonce's longevity in the industry is insane.
cuteboyzay Posted April 2 Posted April 2 When are they gonna submit the new predictions!? This is annoying TF OUTTA MEEE! 1
TROPICUM Posted April 2 Posted April 2 i fear the next prediction is still gonna be below 400 or just above we'll know for sure later on but i'm still 90% sure this is crossing 450k

Beyonce's longevity in the industry is insane. Beyonce changed the album last minute after the vinyl production already began. She then added a few tracks (including ya ya) and changed the name from biyonce to cowboy carter. As a result , the currently availible vinyl are the biyonce versions which are in limited supply since they stopped production once beyonce's team confirmed the changes. It will take another two weeks or so for "Cowboy Carter" versions to be produced and shipped for distribution. As a result, the supply really is limited.

Yeah this could have been a sure 400-500k+ first week. But that's okay, she can sell and this may help her with longevity.

dbaby Posted April 2 Posted April 2 400k seems realistic (and impressive) if she WANTED to, she could've hit closer to 500k (physicals in major stores). Radio and playlisting have been handled really well imo. Rooting for my expectations to be exceeded!
