Spotify launched its Artist charts in late 2021 only.

If you prefer another, even more official and legitimate measure of global success, the IFPI Global Artists charts are right there. While some supposedly global pop girls failed to ever make the top 10 over the years, many others managed to chart and even be #1. It's very informative of true global star power.

It's really quite bizarre how Taylor was RELATIVELY (don't come at me I stan) "local" in the first part of her career and now she is the most global artist around.

Something happened from 2020-2022 that just made her go supernova around the world. Maybe the combo of COVID and Folklore/Evermore, plus the Red re-recording and "All Too Well", idk. Something happened because all of a sudden she's like the new Michael Jackson everywhere.
