Saw it again for a second time with a friend. She loved it. She said it was definitely one of the better sequels of the whole series. Can't wait for them to greenlit a 7th film. 

 

I absolutely loved it even more on the second watch. I noticed so many more things on the rewatch. Even though I knew what was going to happen I was just as emotionally invested as I was on my first watch. This second watch really made me love the Core 4 even more than I liked them before. 

 

So my ranking would be:

It had almost identical % drop to Scream (2022) despite doing $14M more on the opening weekend. It’s doing great

Although I’m happy the franchise is going so well, I hope it doesn’t make them undervalue Neve’s appeal.

It still bothers me that

 

Detective Bailey could have easily shot Sam point blank at the upper deck but he instead charges at her with the gun in his hand. But she wasn't the only Core Four member with plot armor. Chad should have died from his wounds and I don't know why they just left Mindy with barely any life-threatening wounds.

 

The second act of the opening sequence was also underwhelming compared to what was being hyped. Jason's death should have been dragged out; it seemed too straightforward. I think I would have liked more from Jason's perspective in university and how he navigated before GF killed him.

 

Overall, it devoured 5 and Melissa's performance improved a ton. I loved the sister dynamic and how it came full circle at the end.
