• No atmosphere, tension or suspense

• Bad editing and cinematography. Looked really digital and like it was shot through a Snapchat filter. I much prefer the cinematography of the first three.

• Too many characters. As a result, little character development.

• Pacing felt very rushed. Everything was happening too fast. Story wasn't properly developed and there wasn't much breathing room. They really dropped the ball by deleting all those scenes.

• With the exception of Kirby, none of the six new characters were memorable or likeable.

• Lack of chase scenes

• Got too self aware and meta. I understand that these movies are known for that, but I felt they overdid it in 4.

• No variety with the kills. Everyone died either by being stabbed in the stomach or back. And why did the blood look like black ink?

• Too comical and humorous. The humor was very cringey. Even moreso than part 3. At times it felt like I was watching a "Scary Movie" sequel. I was really hoping it would be more dark, like the first two.

• Jill and Charlie were very annoying as the killers. Plus the stuntman who played Ghostface was 6′1 and pretty well built. Emma Roberts is 5'2 and Rory Culkin is about 5'5. Both actors had slight builds. I just wasn't buying these two as the killers.

• Jill's motive was too similar to Roman's in the third movie.

• Didn't really do much to further develope Sidney, Dewey and Gale's characters or the story from the previous three movies. Just felt like a tacked on sequel.

• Generally didn't do anything new or interesting. They basically just did the same things they did in the first three movies.

Theres a reason 5 got a sequel and 4 didn't get one until 9 years later.

-David and Courtney were always fighting. Given that this was near the end of their marriage, this is not surprising.

-Emma Roberts (Jill) slept with Nico Tortorella (Trevor - the guy who gets shot in the dick) and was apparently playing on her phone during it. EVERYONE on set hated interacting with her, Wes Craven included, and thought she was a huge diva.

-Nico tried hitting on everyone on the set and was a huge womanizer. Marielle Jaffe (Olivia - the hot girl who gets gutted and thrown out the window) rejected his advances bc she was a devout Christian.

-Neve apparently hated working with both Emma and Hayden (Kirby) and thought they were both noisy and unprofessional. I was also told Hayden would constantly cry on set due to big scenes with her being taken out of the script.

-A lot of people there were on drugs and partying heavy, most notably David and Nico.

-Everyone hated being there.

-Neve, Courtney, and Rory Culkin (who played the other killer) were apparently the nicest people on set and got along with everyone.

Notice how the Scream 4 stans have nothing but lies and excuses. Horror wasn’t in a good place then. It wasn’t promoted. Horror films get reviewed better now. Neve is only saying that bc of promo. Anything but admitting that 4 was a total FLOP that killed the franchise for a decade

 

4: worst Sidney wardrobe, worst male Ghostface, worst friend group, had Dewey treat Gale like ****, didn’t know what to do with Gale, the horrible filter, the horrible **** Bruce Willis line.

 

The true tea is we’re all lucky 4 was a flop because Kevin’s idea for 5 was absolute trash just like his original idea for 3. Giving Sidney amnesia would’ve been a jump the shark travesty and I’m glad we never got it.

Where did this sudden love for 4 come from? I remember back in 2011 when it was rare to find a Scream stan to love 4 it seems like all of these 4 stans are Hayden and Emma stans but mainly of them are Emma stans cause of AHS and Scream Queens

This...Scream 4 is the worst of the franchise. I couldn't even finish it the first time that I watched it ..I love the original trilogy!! I feel like Sidney's story ended really well in part 3... I found scream 5 entertaining!! But I can't stand scream 4 cause it's horrible..

girl, what is jack quaid known for other than being meg ryan and dennis quaid’s son? no one who hasn’t seen the boys would have any idea who he is  emma is infinitely more famous than him and always will be

Aimee actually starred in Friday Night Lights, a very popular TV show at the time that was just as big, if not a bigger cultural phenomenon, than Jack Quaid's The Boys

jack quaid is a nobody by name, the boys is big but its an ensemble cast, not close to what emma and hayden were. and not S4 opening being worse than scream 3 with the ridiculous voice imitating thing  the s4 opening is remembered, not like s5's which is a watered down aliexpress edition of S1's
