Same, I was really intrigued and got fooled a lot of times. Much better than Scream 5, the killers were obvious from the get go.

Spoiler

The way I was totally convinced at BOTH the Mindy and Kirby red herrings. But also, the Detective and Ethan being father/son and the killers was probably the very first theory the fandom came up with. I guess it’s my fault for being on the subreddit too much but when it was revealed, I wasn’t surprised at all. Like, i wasnt thinking that that was definitely it but Ethan gave Amber vibes from the start tbh. But I didn’t really care cause the climax was amazing any way.

Oh and yeah, Sidney wasn’t missed AT ALL. In fact, I don’t know where she would’ve fit in here.

Also Melissa ******* ate and I know her obsessed haters are fuming right now. A moment most pleasing to me.

I was just thinking about this, don't know how they would fit Sidney on this one.

I saw some people saying Gale's chase scene could originally be Sidney's but let's be real Sidney would never be clever enough or have the nerve to hang up on the killer's face and call him back to know where he was hiding, that was hilarious in the best way possible especially his "huh?" when she hang up and his grunts when she shot him

:bibliahh:

Also, can't see any of Kirby's plot being Sidney's too. I think they weren't lying when they said her screen time was really short to begin with.

I just hope Gale doesn't need to go through this ever again like she's my favorite character from the franchise and a movie without her would be sad but I think they really cemented the "core 4" with this one and I wouldn't mind Gale being out of the action in the next one, would be happy with a little nod to her in the television or something but enough, I can go through the anxiety of thinking she's gonna die again

:weeps:

Spoiler

I was basically almost screaming in the theater. And yeah, Gale should be in the next movie as a reporter only. I don’t ever wanna fear for her safety again lmao

Also, i was DEVESTATED at Chad’s “kill” and while I was hyped as ****** to see him being alive, part of me wished he stayed dead just for the sake of drama.

Some more streams of consciousness

SPOILERS

Loved Gale's introduction in this one, the way she didn't write about Dewey and perpetuated the Sam was the mastermind theory like she did with Sydney and Cotton, and the punch

:dies: loved it

Overall I gotta say this is MILES better for me than 5, like significantly but I'll see if it holds up to rewatches or if I'm still just overhyped, but the way things were shot and paced was just such a different tone, my biggest gripe as some of you may know with 5 were the horrendous studio sets so it was SO nice to have so many real outside shots, lots of scene gave that 1-3 scream vibes that I love.

I think my biggest gripe is it was kinda inexcusable to have NO returning characters be killed or be revealed as GF....then killed

I mean I would have went for both tbh, kill Mindy and reveal Tara or kill Chad and reveal Mindy, it needed a Randy type impact...

Also, what the **** was that **** about Sam and Tara's mom abandoning them because of.....I can't remember tbh dd, she couldn't handle the media attention or their trauma? like UM, is this going where I think it is? she'll be revealed as the Roman mastermind in 7? God I hope not, but not introducing her in this one either is making me worried........ I really don't need that, if anything I need Sam to kill that woman "accidently" or something when she finally shows up for her daughters...but with the "subtle" lines that obviously mean a lot in this one, I'm worried they're going the Roman direction, since so far every movie in the new trilogy has followed the same motives the original series has from 1 onwards and maybe Sam having 2 serial killers and a granny as one too will make her snap and accept she loves killing at the very end of the trilogy or something but we don't get to see those killings she just dawns the GF mask finally..... it's shite I hate to have written that xx

Finally even though I loved all the Stu references and stuff and I get that miss Quinn faking her death was for a fake killer death to happen thing but it literally had 0 impact because I forgot about her as soon as she died :gaycat3:

None of the GFs reveals had any impact except for them being 3 and a family, like 5 definitely outsold with Amber and Richie

So yeah even though it was tense and super super enjoyable it's hard to say I liked the final act and moments because there were was no impact or emotions involved since the 2 who were their "friends" weren't really that close to them either and were mainly treated as suspects not actual friends, there was no bond or betrayal....

Oh, one more thing I didn’t like was

Spoiler

the music. It’s like they wanted to use all of the OG Scream soundtrack for the sake of it, and it really fell flat in certain moments.

Gonna have to rewatch the movie anyways!

The movie is out. Stay out of comment sections talking about it if you don’t even want to read little hints.

I feel like it really worked when

sam and Tara left the police station and we went straight to the scream theme. It really felt like it fit with the rest of the movies
