I was completely underwhelmed during its release but right now I can't stop listening to it. It's not a perfect song and could have benefited from a stronger last chorus but the song slaps hard tbh. Also it really shines live, it will continue to grow when she starts performing it on tour. The last dance break is perfect.
Dula Peep Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Training Season is an amazing song but I agree that the rollout of the song and the sh*tty underwhelming music video really did derail the era.... ...but we're back on track now 2 1

Nefertiti0 Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Joe Kentish, the Warner Brothers U.K. head who has been Dua Lipa's A&R executive since her first album, says he and Dua always aim for a tighter statement, from her 12-song debut up to Radical Optimism. "With this album, she felt like she was there, conceptually and musically, really in the pocket," he says. "She only wanted to have the songs she felt made a great record."

Something something BWBB GIB NMP hate Nah, she did a good job with this record. I'm sure on the deluxe we'll see a song or two that we'll wish had been released instead of X Y Z, but FN and especially RO really are concise and to the point. Glad everyone's opinions are changing the only thing that's changed for me is (a) going from liking to really liking everything + (b) EOAE in particular really 'getting' it now. It's so good, and is what sticks in my head more than any other song actually. I wish it hadn't opened the album tho - it's not the best intro (esp cuz it's not super immediate imo) 1
Cain Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I'm still in the process of forcing myself to like the album But it gets easier by the day 1 10

Nefertiti0 Posted May 8 Posted May 8 UK: 37,305 sales so far this week – 29,987 of which derive from the record's physical release. The album has 6,244 sales from streaming and 1,275 from downloads. 2
SayIt Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I see people are bashing Training Season yet again. Do y'all ever get tired? We know y'all don't like it and that is okay. Do we have to hear it every day?! We know y'all love Houdini and "it is the best song she ever made" but you don't have to put another song down just to make you points valid. Please spare us! 1
LanaXtinaFan Posted May 8 Posted May 8 What if Houdini came back to be an ultimate smash? Is that even possible? Cant believe this song wasn't #1 smash 1

IBeMe Posted May 8 Posted May 8 her pure sales increasing in shares obviously indicates a drop in GP interest BUT indicates that she has built a bit of a more solid fan base which is cool! Obviously not a big enough fan base to make a sifnificant different BUT at least we are seeing pure sales increase which is always a good indicator of long term success overall in a popstars career. The more pure sales she gets the more likely those fans are actually committed fans and not just GP so yay to that! 3
IBeMe Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I have an insane ear for hits yall....Watcha Doing f/ Doja Cat would be a top 10 hit single for her and would help carry the record to 2x platinum status quicker. (btw...what are the units so far for Radical Optimism if we count 1st week + whatever Houdini, Training Season and Illusion got pre album release?) 4 1
Kristie Kuwa Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) RO is still in heavy rotation for me and I still listen to each song. Its such a stellar album, I hope it has legs and manages to surprise ODHs once again. Edited May 8 by Kristie Kuwa 6 1
