Mandalay Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I knew it would happen to her because she has been belting without nasal mixes, which is a treat to the ears but takes a toll on your chords. And her songs have a lot of belts in them, and she's doing multiple shows. She could do one-off shows at stadiums and they would sell out. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

That's VERY difficult regardless of technique. She can't take a break from vocals by doing a quick 1,2 step choreo during her songs or else there would be no sound. Unfortunately with the type of music she makes this is going to happen every time. Try singing an Adele song from start to finish, now do that for 2 hours straight. Whitney managed it from 1987 until the early 2000s and released more albums plus films and huge soundtracks... The Bodyguard tour was particularly long and gruelling. She only developed a vocal injury during that tour, but released The Preacher's Wife and My Love is Your Love within a few years.
Stellar1103 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I wish she would take better care of her voice. The rasp and pitch issues are concerning.

mrpartyrocker Posted April 1 Posted April 1 not y'all acting like some type of vocal gurus my opinion is that she doesn't have a bad technique, but her voice is changing and I don't think she realises that considering she tries to sound the same as 15 years ago look at Beyonce, she doesn't have the same pitch she had when she was 20, but her voice now sounds phenomenal because she managed to find her own routine and match her current tone to all of her songs (old and new)..
l3disko Posted April 1 Posted April 1 So unprofessional. She deserves to lose her voice permanently 1 2 5

sadnews Posted April 1 Posted April 1 she needs to work on her vocals. hire vocal coach and learn.. also stop smoking..
imabadkid Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I mean, people do need to remember she's human after all… however, I get the impression these days she's kinda over it all and just wants to spend her days going to LA/NYC parties with Rich and just doing normal things and living a normal life with ha man.

Because I literally donated my money to a multimillionaire for a show a month ago with no even utterance of when she's rescheduling, and they're refusing refunds - I spent thousands, and thousands on travel expenses, and they can't even offer refunds to tickets I wont use because I'm not devoting anymore time to this mess

Archetype Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I don't know how to feel about this, because her discography is very challenging to sing live and most vocalists would also encounter some form of vocal injury eventually, especially if they get sick while on tour. However, one show per week should give her plenty of time to recoup and maintain her vocals. I think she needs to make serious lifestyle changes if she wants to keep performing. Idk if she's still drinking and smoking, but neither are good for her vocal health.
Vrx. Posted April 1 Posted April 1 She needs to go up a couple of tones and retrofit her old hits to her current voice It's natural that a woman's voice deepens over time, and she should have enough knowledge and ability to adjust to that without destroying her voice literally every era 1

I'd get a lawyer and sue her ass for 2 million
kataraqueen Posted April 1 Posted April 1 i mean lowkey just pre-record the less important parts like Beyoncé does. no reason to jeopardize your career and your talent like this
Iaintsorry Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Why is there such a debate on her voice in here when she states she had to cancel cause she's sick? Obviously when ur sick it affects ur voice, but doesn't mean she's losing her voice
