stevyy Posted February 27 Posted February 27 who uses CSPC? I only use the traditional sales numbers from CM. Unfortunately, E=MC² went down from their previous estimation from 2017... it lost 40,000 sales. Yes, AND Posted February 27 Posted February 27 5 hours ago, WildHeart said: You are right, the stats Feanor posted looks highly inflated But Chartmasters are not saying they are actual sales. It's a formula they use CSPC. The actual album sales are in the first column. The figures he posted are made up of all these : As a reminder: Studio Album: sales of the original album Other Releases: sales of compilations generated thanks to the album Physical Singles: sales of physical singles from the album (ratio 3/10) Download Singles: sales of digital singles from the album (ratio 1,5/10) Streaming: equivalent album sales of all the album tracks (ratio 1/1500 for Audio stream and 1/6750 for Video stream) People just can't read.
Funnyfatty Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Why does billboard say she sold 200m albums GLOBAL and cm says that she sold below 200m including streaming and everything else sorry but i dont believe that merry christmas numbers. How can it sell 1m only in 7 years when it sells 400k every year?
downtown Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Mariah now becomes the best selling international artist in Asia, with over 33.5m albums sold in that continent. QUEEN OF ASIA 2

How can it sell 1m only in 7 years when it sells 400k every year? two different lines: 1) traditional sales (Physical digital) are pretty good from CM. 2) CSPC is not sps. In sps, Mariah is certified - yes, just certified - for more singles sales than what CM is giving her. Then we have albums certs. CM claims 70 million albums sales in the US while Mariah is already certified CERTIFIED for 75 million which incl. some streaming for certain albums which have been recently certified. 3) In real sps as we understand it from BB and other charts companies, Mariah has def. sold over 300 million units worldwide - rather 320m+. CSPC is not sps. For example it transfered sales and streams from her compilation albums to her studio albums. Something like #1's (1998) SOLD 16,5 million copies traditionally and has a lot of streaming from the new songs on it as well. You could easily add a million or two to #1's for its streaming activity of the new music alone. WYB for example is sitting at 150m streams on Spotify, is certified for having sold over 1 million singles in the US alone and has 500 million streams on YT (not incl. other streaming services). WYB alone has like 1 billion streams across all formats now. 1

QUEEN OF ASIA finally... even the low-ball numbers from CM acknowledge that. The fact that she sold more in Asia than in Europe shows how incredibly global her career is. (and no, her EU sales are also GREAT). 2

Poncho Barlliams Posted March 2 Posted March 2 she sold more digital singles than Michael Jackson, and is on the same level as Britney, insane how her hits have survived the digital era very well 4

Justice for emotions. i don’t get it. I mean were people that caught off guard to have a new album out so quickly???

downtown Posted March 3 Posted March 3 But why Music Box's sales in Japan decrease? According to Sony Japan, MB has sold over 2.6m in that country but chartmasters claims that it only sold 2.29m
Feanor Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Her selling 81M digital song sales is very impressive considering when she debuted. That's almost as much as Britney's digital song sales, although hers haven't been updated in some time either. But still, there are almost 10 years between "Vision Of Love" and "BOMT". 1
Outside789 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 So Daydream is officially her biggest selling album overall now? @stevyy 1
stevyy Posted March 3 Posted March 3 3 hours ago, Outside789 said: So Daydream is officially her biggest selling album overall now? @stevyy Not in sales. E=MC² is the only album - so it seems - which was reduced in sales with this new update. Weird.
