Ariana is not one that plans albums, she just releases when she feels like it, just like she's done with TUN, Positions, and now this. She also never says things are coming for years and makes fans wait, she's always straightforward and only tells us she's coming when it's actually coming in the upcoming month or so. She's never going to stop doing music, also because.. Wicked is a musical, and pop music or not she's always going work with music.

After dropping Positions, she mentioned that she wanted a "change of pace". Wicked is like a dream come true for her and I believe she wanted a little break from the music scene after releasing albums back-to-back since 2013. The decision of splitting the film into 2 parts remains messy imo but we'll see. At least the strike happened and she managed to cook this album. Her fans would have slit their throats if we got nothing but Wicked and S.C.A.M Beauty posts until 2027.

What TV show was Fantasize for then, do we know? Was it for some SNL skit or something like that? Just since she explicitly calls it a "parody song". It's wild to me that she was going to be willing to wait until 2027 to release another album, too.  Wicked promo would have completely wrapped by then and while I'm sure it'll be a huge success for her, they would have missed an opportunity doing that.

Parody of a 90s girl group makes me think of Girls5eva.

There was speculation that they were for a musical comedy her frequent collaborator Savan Kotecha is working on about 90s boy bands, but her insistence it was *TV* (as opposed to film) makes people think it was probably a pitch for the second season of GIRLS5EVA, which would align the time they songs were recorded.

 

The actual songs had no real names. In the leaked session files, they were called things like "90s idea 1, 90s idea 2, 90s idea 3".

 

"True Story" = 90s idea 1, recorded August 30th, 2021 <- actually went back and re-used the demo for ES

"Gloss" = 90s idea 2, recorded August 30th, 2021

"Fantasize" = 90s idea 3, recorded August 31st, 2021

Both films are already filmed, what she will do in-between? If the films are coming Nov 2024 and Nov 2025  She can easily tour

I don't think anyone really believes she would wait till 2027 to release a new album. Aside from the strike releasing an album also was the perfect way to divert any attention away from the backlash. I thought I was the only one who thought she sounded really different. Whatever she's got done  seems to have settled now after a few years. I think she looks amazing like a life size doll. I'm really excited for the album.

This feels like a misread. She is always in the studio writing, recording, and more generally playing around. The mass amount of songs that have leaked finished and unfinished demonstrates how much she loves creating. I don't see her walking away from music.

She probably just doesn't want to and is trying to be mindful of her fans instead of flat out saying no. Touring in general is super draining and mentally taxing, but for her I imagine touring might be especially triggering because of Manchester. I don't blame her.

Yeah I get that as well, she can do a small tour with the bigger cities in the US and a few EU cities.

Artists clearly dont want to tour anymore. Some of them are not in the right mental headspace for it. Dont blame them
She was highly overworked by the devil scooter braun. Not shocked she doesnt wanna tour anymore. He also cashed out with Bieber...and he's sick or just done with his career

This is one of the reasons why we all should be highly appreciative of artists like Billie,Olivia,MadonnaTaylor,Beyonce,Shakira,Gaga,Pink,Madonna,Carly Rae....ETC who are still invested in touring. Not everyone has the mental stamina for that   i honestly only care about albums-new music-videos. So, no big loss for me but i feel bad about some fans of live concerts. 

This album even if its short looks promising. Excited
