And she thought filming herself and uploading it was a good idea why?

Thread would still be on its first page if you replaced "Swiftie" with any other fanbase.

ATRL should give us a % of the the ad profits for keeping this forum so active!

You laugh but if Madonna did Drowned World on my Celebration Tour date, I'd cry.

No one is exploited.

Not for the lack of trying. She just got shipped back 💁‍♀️

Spoiler

Not to mention that if any tay song warrants that reaction and you’re over 12 years old…but to each their own 🤷‍♀️

So, according to you, this is an appropriate reaction to some art? Just not Taylor's?

She took it down. But I was just in time to witness the mental illness. Her friends were NOT having it :bibliahh:

I could never be around someone like this. This person needs help.

Why was she even filming herself? That just tells me she was going to over-react to anything she performed

I mean there’s nothing wrong with connecting to music emotionally - totally get that and have cried at several shows myself. Recording your own over the top reaction and posting it is definitely a different story though - it comes off as performative and “look how CLOSE to [artist] I am emotionally.” It turns what could be a genuine moment of emotion into a weird grab for attention at any cost.

What a shame she wasn't able to witness it live inside the stadium like I did last night.

Yes it is, it gave second-hand embarrassment. She probably aimed to get the attention from the guy that dumped her..  little did she know :bird:

Nothing new. Cultural phenomenons like Taylor inspire such mass hysteria - we've seen it in history from Elvis to Beatles and Michael Jackson.

People literally fainted at the sight of Elvis and Michael Jackson and in so many numbers that it was considered completely normal. One Taylor stan goes bananas at a show and it's looked upon as creepy because her music, persona, image and talent doesn't belong in the category of greatness and all-time popularity that is those two artists. At most the only people thinking this belongs in the same category are her own fans and it's very telling. No one questioned Michael's and Elvis' status, everyone and their mamas that aren't Taylor stans are like "can't name a song by Taylor", "I don't understand the hype" etc.

It's the Spice Girls minus vocal abilities all over again.

Performative. Feelings might be real, not questioning it, but obv if you're recording yourself the whole time, you remove sincerity from your response to an event. Truly bizarre.
