Feanor Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) Look at the material… Already an Oscar winner for Best Actress for La La Land (and 4-time acting nominee), she's also currently predicted to win her 2nd Best Actress Oscar for Poor Things. So all in all, would you say that Emma Stone is thee actress of our time? Or do you think it's someone else? Edited February 24 by Feanor
jonapova Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Our time as in alive and still making movies? Then no, that’s Meryl Streep. If you mean of a certain age then I would argue Amy Adams or Jessica Chastain, but she’s top 3.
Tylerbv Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Maybe. I’ve only seen her in Easy A though I think she has a great team behind her for marketing/promo though because it’s nuts how many accolades she has. Especially in the Oscars.
uusagii Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Is that supposed to be an impressive filmography? 5 2 2 4
KarmaCat Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Yes, have you seen her in Cruella and Poor Things? PHENOMENAL. I thought she’d be eaten alive by the larger than life character of Cruella, but wow she gave the role justice and more. 2
prézli Posted February 24 Posted February 24 No, it's Amy Adams, the most nominated actress without a single win. 2
ctlp27 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Love her but she doesnt have the body of work to get that title yet (which also is very English centric).

Leptine Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I don't think that being the "actress of our time" can be measured only with critical acclaimed movies and Oscars, Stone is definitely between the best actresses of our generation but I feel like Jennifer Lawrence despite her recent decline suits more in that title, other than the Oscar, she had the big media presence and popularity also with the general audience that Stone hasn't reached in the same way yet.
LoveInStereo Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Poll options should be “yes” and “I haven’t seen Poor Things yet” 4 1 1
Heldenzeit Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) Aren't Meryl and Angela still alive? Edited February 24 by Heldenzeit 2
MonsterJohn Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Idk, are The help and Lalaland considered classic after all? I barely see anyone reference her movies/roles
