“I don’t feel bad,” Mr. Fleming said, trimming a mustache. “Milwaukee is tired. Both of them were terrible. They never do anything for us anyway.”

As Democrats pick through the wreckage of the campaign, one lesson is clear: The election was notable as much for the people who did not show up, as for those who did. Nationally, about half of eligible voters did not cast ballots.

The biggest drop was here in District 15, a stretch of fading wooden homes, sandwich shops and fast-food restaurants that is 84 percent black. In this district, voter turnout declined by 19.5 percent from 2012 figures, according to Neil Albrecht, executive director of the City of Milwaukee Election Commission. It is home to some of Milwaukee’s poorest residents and, according to a 2016 documentary, “Milwaukee 53206,” has one of the nation’s highest per-capita incarceration rates.

We already saw what happens when Trump won his first election, sis. It's pretty clear the whole system needs to be dismantled - I just wish americans could wrap their heads around dismantling it WHILE a democrat is in power :coffee2:

That would require leadership.  Something the democrats seem opposed to.

So why risk that?  If trump is truly such a risk, then why run such a weak candidate.

Y'all can argue with the wall or the entire south, midwest and cute states like Utah, Wyoming and both Dakotas. Go there and see what happens.

I’m literally from WI. You seriously want to have a conversation about politics in a state that can swing the election?

Genuinely insane that Biden's chances are so poor that the discourse has devolved into 2016-era "non-voters are privileged rich white dudes who deserve to die!!" rhetoric (cc: @Espresso ddd).

The worst part being... the clear pivot is so obviously rooted in Biden's Zionism. He basically Is so ideologically committed to Israel that his admin seeing progressives upset over it has led the White House to a strategy of just lurching rightward and telling progressives to **** off. Cause in 20202 they at least did lip service to progressive causes.

Well, first of all, that's very of brave of you to admit that you are from there.

Secondly, ppl are not so much against Biden as they are pro Trump. They want that type of leader and that's okay, you'll get him very soon. Thankfully in your case, Canada ain't far.

I knew it was coming, but I was hoping it wouldn’t be until after the conventions at least. I’m…..tired.

Low income black Americans like many other groups of ppl are depending on SS benefits that were significantly raised under Biden administration, such SNAP, medicaid, plus utilities and rent assistance benefit rates. Isn’t Trump was the one who cut SNAP rates and keep promising to continue his “achievements" to cut even more benefits if he returns into oval office.

Didn’t we already know this was the plan? Project 25 has been known for like two years now.

also not some users defending this and saying they’re ‘joking’. It’s not a joke. Just look at Alabama, said ivf is a baby and cite the wrath of god. We’ve been heading this direction for years it’s just been so slow and subtle that the average person isn’t noticing it

"Procedural reasons" are more related to particular States and their rules, not Biden. Anyway, income eligibility limit for medicaid were significantly raised under Biden, so more ppl have a chance to get coverage, especially in such expensive state like NY for example. Trump did absolutely nada for low income ppl, only cut taxes for the rich, straight facts.

No, "procedural reasons" mean Biden's decision to end the public health emergency declaration that required state Medicaid programs to ensure qualified and eligible people received continuous Medicaid coverage and that state governments weren't allowed to arbitrarily kick people off for procedural reasons like paperwork missing. Meaning that these protections and expanded benefits from COVID lifting causes 17M people to lose their access to Medicaid.

If Republicans can take away Medicaid - a federal program - from millions people under Biden.. what's the point of voting for Biden to protect Medicaid?

So according this tweet - Texas has disenrolled the most Medicaid members, another proof that GOP controlled states are doing whatever they want to harm their own ppl, but but but Biden, I guess, right? :giraffe:

After being given the green light by the Biden admin that everyone needed "to accept COVID is over" and end all the social safety nets that were put in place under the COVID-19 public health emergency, yes, thank you for showing how they work in tandem.

It's genuinely all the democrats have to lean on. Reverting back to the same playbooks that lost them election 8 years ago. They genuinely have nothing else, because Joe Biden now has four years of not much other than unprecedented levels of skyrocketing inflation and roads and bridges under his record.

I hope you hold yourself to the same standard and that you don't complain if Trump wins—because you chose to quadruple-down on a blatantly weak candidate and refused to even consider alternatives for the good of the country.

Show me one polled candidate doing better than biden against Trump and I might support them. I’ll wait.

I’ll complain all I want knowing I voted for the only other person in the ballot who can win other than Trump. Same can’t be said  For others 🤷
