Considering she dropped it during the Super Bowl I mean let’s have some context here

And Usher performed at the Super Bowl, you wouldn't know it though.

ya yall have to consider to that there are more #1s she could have had in her discography post Sasha Fierce but she starting being vehemently anti-promo. no interviews, traditional performances …. when 4 came out she entered a new wave of just letting the music speak for itself which translated into mixed results and often times ended up with her songs doing worse than they could have / should have done

she promoted the song  and released during the super bowl , why act surprised?? :rip:

sorry , maybe you glossed over the part where it’s a 40 year old black woman releasing a country song over two decades into her career

remember country music ??? it’s the thing your fave did for a while to ingratiate herself to a loyal white audience before abandoning it to become another generic pop star !

There's no way you can't say it's not impressive sorry :deadbanana4:

And I don't even like the song or anything but the fact that she could actually take it to the top spot is beyond impressive and unexpected. Sure the SB helped make the audience aware of the song but that it's held up this well for this long is mighty impressive.

Does that guarantee the public liking it and streaming it everywhere? You’re acting like the superbowl forced everyone to listen to it on loop lmao

The excuses you make when she does one ounce of promo to cope is sad

Because it's a country song, by a black woman, in her 40s and it's smashing globally. :skull: Why are you acting like that isn't hugely impressive?
