She played 2 of the Ed co-writes including the lead single, and a Raye co-write which was delightful. There's an RnB inspired track, and a disco-leaning banger which felt like the most experimental of the bunch. Oooh interesting, thanks for sharing! Did any of the tracks you heard stand out as a particular favourite? Where did you think the lead single ranked amongst the others? 1

It's catchy and fun - not reinventing the wheel, but a great introduction, and allows her vocals to shine. I can see the other Ed-penned song being a single as well. She was really vibing out to everything. You can tell she loves this album and is extremely proud of what she's created. Lots of guitars, which you can tell she was missing when she was in the group. The room was the most electric during the last song she played (the disco inspired one). Not single material (don't think there's a good enough hook for radio), but I think it will be a fan favourite as it's something completely different for her / in amongst the rest of the tracks. 1 2

Thank you so much for sharing this! It sounds like we’ve got some good material to look forward to. I remember one fan who attended her secret listening party described one song having ABBA vibes so I’m going to assume that’s the disco inspired track you’re referring to. I am very excited to hear all of the songs, most reviews I’ve read have been largely positive. My only “concern” at the moment is the songs and descriptions Perrie herself and other people have given don’t sound like they’d necessarily result in a cohesive album with a clear sound to it.. hopefully that won’t be a problem though. As long as the songs are good!
Eóghan Posted March 6 Posted March 6 she has the strongest and most recognizable voice in the group despite being the one with the least charisma but that's the factor that might make her the biggest success in the group 1

She’s never been a solo artist so I guess she’s still figuring out her signature sound

Perrie has HEAPS of personality. She was the most present during interviews, especially during the early days. If you watch any of their old interview / media content Perrie is always the one who’s engaged, interacting and making jokes. I get that during the last few years she’s been more reclusive and chose not to go out and party with Jade / Leigh and attend their party’s / other social events but to say she has no charisma…

Do the songs that you’ve heard today sound like material that would be easily digested by the GP I.E radio material / hits? My other question is if you feel like the songs sound authentic or do they sound like “dupes” of other artists? The Carrie Underwood reference is making me think this. Especially as I’m sure she’ll be compared to Kelly Clarkson again.

There isn't one cohesive sound or genre, but you can tell she's having fun experimenting with all kinds of influences. Sonically, it really was giving Carrie Underwood / Anne Marie / Kelly Clarkson. I threw Anne Marie in there, as it still sounds like modern British pop music. Is there a global number one smash hit from the 6 tracks that I heard? I'm not sure. Will she have a Top 20 single in the UK? I can almost guarantee it. 2

WERKER Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Mess not that Little Mix Stan on Twitter screenshotting these posts It is all exciting though 3
tbhmatt Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I wasnt really expecting Perrie of all Little Mix members to re-invent the wheel when it comes to her solo music to be honest, so as long as the songs are good I’m really fine with the output even if it isn’t particularly distinct. She has an incredible voice so it would take a lot for her not to make a song sound good tbh lol.
WERKER Posted March 7 Posted March 7 You should all read the article on official charts. Im so excited. 1
djcalpal Posted March 7 Posted March 7 The Joy Orbison one is the disco inspired track I've been ranting about. Honestly the most exciting thing we heard - looking forward to giving it a replay on release day!!! 1
tbhmatt Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Oh, the RAYE song also features vocals from Raye too? It’s a proper collab and not just a co-write?
tbhmatt Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Columbia must have invested a lot of money in to this if the descriptions about budget/production value etc aren’t just an exaggeration This is very exciting!
WERKER Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Two Truths; One lie video is up. Her team is doing well to engage her audience throughout this massive wait. I just wish they’d announce the single, hoping maybe they will on the 12th and allow the preorders start for physicals to help with the debut position. 1

kayliah Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I hope she becomes a worldwide phenomenon because her voice is sturdy, powerful and amazing. I really hope her solo career takes off. Wish she collabed with the producer of Flowers and As it was cuz they are on Columbia's roster I think if I'm not mistaken. 1
tbhmatt Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I can’t really see them announcing the single so soon in advance.. maybe an announcement 2, maximum 3 weeks before release I suppose?

They might be announcing sooner than we think. The rollout started like a month ago and every week they are giving away more info and content, with the new video they posted today I feel like an annoucement or magazine photoshoot is next.
