Kalmanta Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Yeah, CC's gonna obliterate Renaissance's streaming numbers, which is a given with over 10 more titles, but even then I expect a higher per-track average (>2.71M) 1
Child of Destiny Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) I want a physical version of the album but with the horse on the cover 😭😭 Edited March 29 by Child of Destiny Delete

Lose My Breath Posted March 29 Posted March 29 2 minutes ago, scottstreet said: 400k for II MOST WANTED is not partial day, it's full unfiltered streams in it's first 11 hours. That's how @popmusic works, I've been following his stats for over 2 years. :/ Thank you for the clarification! I'll be interested to see the partial day numbers. 1
elincomprendid Posted March 29 Posted March 29 14 minutes ago, Lose My Breath said: So UTC would be the same time as the GMT update, which would suggest that 400k would be partial day streams for II MOST WANTED WE NEED MORE CLARIFICATION, but if that's true, we're in for a really big streaming day With 400k partials the album should be doing insanely better on Apple plus some track should've at least debuted on Australia or New Zealand charts... 400k is clearly by the time he posted
J-esper Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) The way I would buy an additional copy of both CD and vinyl if it includes the horse cover and the remaining songs Without thinking Edited March 29 by J-esper

Riverdance has this incredibly gorgeous production. It's as if you are running through a field on a sunny day. The harmonies and melodies are just as stunning. But she ruins it with that aggressive "bounce on that **** dance" line. It's so grating to the ears and sounds awful. Why would she do that? Pissed me off. Good! Now **** off 2

Shelter Posted March 29 Posted March 29 American Requiem is a great opener 16 Carriages remains the best slow song
ham Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) I wasn't following any developments about this album. I heard Texas Hold'em for the first time a few weeks ago through a post on the forums, and I heard through the ether that Beyonce was going country for her next album. I know I'm going to get buried for my take, but these are my thoughts after listening to the whole album... This clearly isn't a country album. I'll say, at most, it's pop-country inspired. It's more of an orchestral-choir heavy R&B mix. Sprinkled in with straight pop-R&B tracks. As the album goes on, there's less experimentation, and it's more and more just straight R&B with some cowboy-inspired words thrown in ("rodeo," "horse," "jeans," etc.). To be clear, it's *not* bad music. I'm thoroughly enjoy some of the tracks. But that country twang is missing from her voice on nearly all the tracks. Which is, arguably, half of what country music is these days. Especially pop-country. Maybe I was misled about the next album being a "Country" one, and that was never her intention. And like my partner said, "Beyonce is a billionaire. She doesn't even need to be doing this." She can do whatever she wants, and this is her doing just that. Lastly, there's the question of whether pop-country is even "country." It's all such a mix of influences and crossovers nowadays that it's all starting to blend together anyway. Which I'm not saying is a bad thing. I'm just saying I might be arguing a position of "this isn't country" that doesn't even mean anything to begin with in 2024. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. My favorite tracks so far: Alligator Tears II Most Wanted Levii's Jeans Ya Ya Riiverdance II Hands II Heaven Amen ...so basically the entire second half where it becomes more of a traditional R&B album. I'm about to give it a second play through now. Edited March 29 by ham Missed some words. Grammar mistakes.
Misguided Ghost Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) Yeah, I want to buy the horse cover the most, but as of right now there are no Cowboy Carter CDs at my local retailers at all at any version not even for a pre-order Edited March 29 by Misguided Ghost
bad guy Posted March 29 Posted March 29 1 minute ago, Post Malone said: @bad guy we want more straight man thots Ameriican Requiem was very Beatles coded and then the transition to Blackbiird was excellent as a rock music lover. II Most Wanted and, I hate to say it, Levii's Jeans were also pretty strong. Beyoncé paid for Posty's vocal lessons I see
