Tusk Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Just a few songs in but it is a soothing masterpiece. In love with her vibe.
monologueNacafe Posted March 15 Posted March 15 She really hit her stride in the second half. Lonely Millionaire is simple but gorgeous 1
Achilles. Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Cardinal, Anime Eyes, Nothing To Be Scared Of top 3. The Architect may bump one of them out, though. The album’s well written but nothing really grabs me. Too much of her crystals and jade and astrology and nature is healing zen kooky hippie lady persona in there I fear. I can take it in a song or two (see: Cardinal), but a whole album of it tests my patience. Glad she returned to mostly-country, though. Hope the gays are a bit bothered by it!
pinkbowvintage Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I was trying to figure out what the verses of Cardinal sound like and... it's Say it Right by Nelly Furtado love!
CottageHore Posted March 15 Posted March 15 The Architect is literal perfection. I cried. The way she ends it with “is there an architect?”. That subtle switch is so touching and existential. I also just love how the production on these songs all have good catchy hooks and her melodies are so full and cohesive this time. This is proof of what Star Crossed could’ve been with a little more sonic direction. 1 1

I pointed this out when it dropped and I thought I was the only one who heard it! Also, the melody of Cardinal’s verses are directly taken from the melody of her song Mother from Golden Hour. 1
Holiest Dreams Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I didn’t necessarily hate Star-Crossed, but I still think this is a return to form. I’ll need more listens to determine what I really think. Soothing is a great word to describe it though
ang Posted March 15 Posted March 15 i absolutely love this project it's everything i needed and wanted from her

AnonnonA Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 I absolutely love the witchy vibes on Cardinal, Heart Of The Woods and Jade Green 1
ang Posted March 15 Posted March 15 the architect is so beautiful i held it together pretty well but i lost it on that one
Holiest Dreams Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Okay I just fully finished it and this definitely feels more folk than country + definitely not as Pop as Golden Hour, but I can see the comparisons tbh. It’s a gorgeous album.
monologueNacafe Posted March 15 Posted March 15 There aren’t really any skips upon second listen (maybe 2). I find it difficult to pick a top 3 because there are no big disparities in quality overall. Jade Green is probably my favorite for now
