Midnights

Midnights (3AM Edition)

Midnights: The Til Dawn Edition

Midnights: Late Night Edition

And no, don’t come at me with your bullshit ‘she added songs that were already hits to a deluxe edition it’s different’’ because that’s a tired argument. It’s all artists and labels finding ways to mess with the units/SEA format. So Midnights is a playlist as well, admit it.

Sis, you damn well know the thing people cite is Dua adding other people's songs to her albums, don't act brand new. At least stick to remixes or ~39 cents~ if you want to drag Taylor against annoying Swifties :priceless:

Regardless, I need miss Dua to play the game earlier on in her rollouts, 11 tracks after waiting 4 years is torturous :jonnycat:

What is this mindset? Only ballads can have deeper lyrics? It looks like you don’t have anything to say because this take is giving… I don’t be too hard and say the word I’m thinking… well, it’s giving uneducated.

i've listened to every song Dua's released and 20+ unreleased tracks. Dua demonstrated a vulnerable vocal performance on STBL and gives a cool steeliness on other tracks. Both of her albums do not give much idea of who Dua is, this has been said by many pop fans and critics so not sure why you have this reaction here. There's nothing personal in Homesick, New Love, Thinkin Bout You. She expresses herself in up tempos more where she can be confident, sassy and change vocal inflections. DSN conveys her personality best and feels like a genuine break up song, but it doesn't say much. some artists can say a lot with lyrics and some don't, it's just not her strength. nobody needs Dua to be Lana Del Rey. she's here to deliver bops. when Dua does try to say more, we get a boring serious track like Boys Will Be Boys that makes a clear message but is not enjoyable and has clunky lines like "Oh, and they do what they see
'Cause it's all on TV
Oh, the kids ain't alright".

FN title track was a good balance of showing her view and keeping it in a catchy pop song, so i'm sure she will deliver more of that on the next album. but if Dua wants to say something more meaningful, she'll put it on instagram rather than in a song. and that's fine.

This. If Houdini is the standout of the Danny L Harl & Co sessions then...Chile

8 tracks solely made by them is A LOT (in a bad way), I hope I'm surprised and wrong when the album comes out.

This to be honest. Makes me not as excited.

I like the description of them. Hopefully Houthini wasn't a highlight

Houdini is a great song, y'all just dislike it because it didn't smash (also the usual lack of taste).

11 tracks with no ballads is great to hear. Hopefully it's even better than FN and going by Houdini alone I trust it will be. :heart2:

Not this again. Most of us who don’t like the song, we don’t like it because it’s just bland, the lyrics are monotone & the production is bad. If you want to hear great Dua songs that I personally think would have also been smash singles, search Fool’s Paradise or Tumbling. Those are great songs (they have everything Houdini lacks)

Didn't Lorde release a great 11-track album after a long break too?? What are yall afraid of?

atrl once again not understanding the art and excellence of a cohesive, narrowed down album.

Good. Sick of ballads and at this point, I’ll be fine going my entire life without hearing another one again.

The production is sharp and the song is catchy with a lot of interesting melodies. It's not as bombastic and in-your-face as Levitating or Don't Start Now, but that doesn't mean it's a bad song. I think it's on the same level as most FN tracks and even better than some.

And thank you for the recommendations. I don't usually do unreleased, but who knows. :lakitu:

I wish it was more songs but she will give us quality

Also for all ATRL haters that’s say that she is desperate for streams well… look at this only 11 songs, I’ve seen some ridiculous albums with 30 tracks!

why are people sad there's only 11 tracks, you know we're going to be able to listen to way more than that... :suburban:

Wonder if they’ll go Houdini is a deluxe track after it tanked
