Taylor Swift and her team are mad about her fans & the media calling her gay — CNN

I think we (collectively), as a society, should stop speculating about people's private lives. As long as it's a consented adult relationship, it shouldn't be anyone's business.

As for Taylor, her being gay or not doesn't change my views on her. I still listen to some of her songs, but I still believe she's a greedy billionaire who exploits her fans with her twisted narrative and her victim complex.

Remember this? It is homophobic to be 'dismayed' if someone thinks you're gay. Especially going to the lengths to release a press release over it. Even Lizzo handled speculation over her sexuality better than this. She could just say 'I'm not gay' or something on Twitter if she really wants to address it. It's not cause for dismay or distress or 'invasive' or 'inappropriate' to wonder if someone might be gay or bisexual.

Honestly I would live if she tweeted this video

If she is queer, that's okay.

If she isn't queer, that's okay too.

These weirdos. She has every right to call them out and end it for once and for all before it keeps escalating. Look at the Larries for instance, they openly spread theories on social media that Louis' son wasn't his and that he was just born as a facade for the man to be gay on the downlow. Can you imagine how much that must hurt?

In 50 years people will look back at this era where Netflix original movies were being watched by billions, Marvel ruled the world and Taylor Swift was the biggest star and go, that makes sense. You had to be excessively bland to capture the monoculture spotlight.

These people need to feel embarrassed. Some of them have been on this train for YEARS.

Absolutely right.

Taylor Swift’s response to this situation rubs me the wrong way.  It sends a message that being gay is wrong.  For someone who claims to be an “ally” to the LGBTQIA community, Taylor Swift should know better.  Her response is problematic.

Fair enough, but also bear in mind, Taylor Swift has built a whole career by exploiting every facet of her personal life.  She has sold millions of units in music by writing about her relationships, friendships and family.  She has convinced her millions of fans that she’s their friend.  She has brought this all on herself.

So Taylor and her team are more concerned with shutting down lesbian fan theories than addressing her CO2 emissions? :deadbanana2:

She addresses it by buying carbon credits to offset her flights

No, being gay is not wrong. What's wrong is continuing to especulate (and profit off, NYT is a major publication) on her sexuality, especially when some of the takes in them are that her entire love life up to this moment was a lie designed to cover up some imaginary closeting that these weirdos keep insisting exists. Such things would rub anyone the wrong way, as they should.

If she doesn't put an end to it it will escalate to even unhealthier lenghts like it happened to Louis Tomlinson, whose kid they keep insisting aint his because they firmly believe he's gay. I stand by her in this, in fact, take them to court next time

It's absurd how there's any question about her sexuality when we all know how famously straight her love life is. If she has to literally spell it out "I'm not gay" to the world. Then she is not the problem here.
Your faux "problematic" outrage is so fake and annoying when there's nothing she had done that indicates "being gay is wrong".

I’m totally against people speculating other people’s sexuality, but she can only really be offended by this she thinks there’s something wrong with being gay

I doubt a gay person would be bothered or would be offended if people mistook them for being straight, even if it happened often

Eg: I can’t imagine Ellen DeGeneres being hurt /offended or even care if someone thought she was straight

Only a straight person would hate this because they view LGBT as beneath them, even if it’s in a subconscious way.

She's not offended that people are saying her gay. She's offended that gaylors have gone as far as accusing her of lying, "queerbaiting" (?!?), living double lives where her relationships are all fake while still shipping her with karlie or sum (even thou that lady is also MARRIED). Or how they accuse her father of being abusive and that's why she's still in the closet, etc. while at the same time claiming that she needs to be put in a conservatorship because she is not coming out.

Like... how many red flags have you noticed so far in that mess?
Gaylors are so obsessed with Taylor's personal life that they are even mad at her going out with WAGs recently.

She has the right to be angry, this speculation about her life is getting weird.

She does not. She CHOSE to base her brand on airing out her love life and making people speculate. Every song is linked to a different famous boyfriend and she desperately wants everyone to know it. But she took it so far with her latest "boyfriend" that her performative "look I'm at his game making concerned faces" antics felt fake. It made people wonder if he's a publicity stunt boyfriend. Which made them wonder if all the others were too. Which made them wonder if she like boys at all. That's the risk of exploiting your personal life for relevance. Don't like it, don't do it.

This is so stupid considering how gatekeeping it is. Musicians writing songs about their personal life? Must be "flower for spring" groundbreaking news to you.

Hers feels fake. A 5 yo can tell this new boyfriend is PR. That's the point.

Taylor is way too boy-crazy to be gay. This woman can’t even stay single for a full moon’s turn after ending a 5-year plus relationship
