How are XG doing in Japan? I know they had a head start being all Japanese, got some invitations and one magazine cover. Are they established yet? Newjeans, Babymonster, all the new groups are now coming for that Japanese market, that could make things difficult for them if they aren't.

They're doing decently. Mascara -> Shooting Star -> Left Right charted pretty well. But if they were actually promoting in Japan, they could've been so much bigger.

Instead, they choose to perform in Korea where they will never be accepted and we all know why. I don't get their strategy.

The fact kpop Stans still put them in the K-pop category despite being all Japanese and singing in English is a great strategy imo. Japan is way too restricted so if they solely promoted in japan they wouldn't gather so much buzz plus they only focus on their typical j-pop.
